I probably wouldn't spend money on something like this. Displaying a sword or sword-prop properly is very expensive. Also, getting a good-quality sword or sword prop is going to be pretty expensive on top of that.
Basically a straight up gold-colored sword blade with a tip on it and the ornamentation on the hilt. Maybe just a little bit longer and flatter than the Uramasa, but not by more than a couple of inches, if that.
The ends on the hilt open and close, but that's really just for effect than anything else, so either way would work, I think.
I can pitch in some cash for a Sword of Justice! Just tell me where to mail it to (no paypal though because I hate them forever).
As for designs, I think it has to be sleek, yet sturdy looking. Not too thin like a katana, but not too big like a bastard sword. It has to have some heft to it. Double sided edges, with a hilt that two hands can grasp. Definately a large, coin sized logo or maybe even a large marble-like sphere in the hilt. Think Thundercats' logo size, but set in crystal.
I've always had this idea in my head that I would like a sword with a silver hilt, but a black blade. Something that looks unique. But that might not say justice...
I was thinkin'... how difficult would it be to get this thing made out of plastic, preferably in three different pieces? A Garage kit sword so to speak. It would certain lower cost if we have to assemble it and plastic would make it safer for shipping. Maybe three pieces: two for the hilt and one for the blade.
Plus if the blade is one piece it means we could have different blade shapes to fit in the standard hilt, and with the right plastic it mans we could paint it whatever color we want and customize our sword.
While certainly more flimsy than metal it would let us avoid a lot of regulation and red tape regarding weapons. Plus we could carry those at cons without trouble ;P
I'd donate but I'd have to know it was indeed a sword I wanted first & wouldn't just wind up being switched over to some other show I have no interest in... I'm highly interested in a juuzo sword though for sure
I'd also be interested in a garo sword as well Maybe after juuzos ?
