Frace / Uruguay was a kinda boring match, though some pretty close calls every now and then and really wtf calls from the ref. So that leaves Mexico and South Africa at the top of the group today, yay.

The game seemed weird at times, and there were some very stupid moves by the ref.
I was expecting a 2-1 in favor of Mexico.

Sooo! We had a thread four years ago, may as well start another. Is anyone else going to watch? It totally slipped my mind that the thing started today, so I'm pretty psyched. These are my predictions:

I hope you're wrong. Naturally, being English, I want England to win, but if England do go out early, I absolutely don't want that to be against France. They shouldn't even be at the tournament, they're cheaters. They won the last qualifying match against Republic of Ireland 2-1 - but Thierry Henry handballed when he scored the goal, so by rights it should've been 1-1 and gone to penalties. For that reason I believe that match should've been replayed, and that Ireland deserve to be at the World Cup instead. I'll be very happy if France go out in the group stage, but realistically, I do think they'll reach the last 8. As for England, same stage at least - but it'll be disappointing if we don't at least make the semis.

Nice, South Korea took an early lead with a goal six minutes in. <3 They've been putting up some really nice defense so far, Greece had a pretty great chance for a goal but totally lost it.

And ITV1HD missed England's goal! Dunno what went wrong, since the SD version was fine. Not the first time they've done that, ITV1 (SD) has missed a winning goal in an FA Cup match and the last three minutes of an F1 race before now.

They got very lucky. In my mind, we still won. 'cause that would've been saved if our dumbass goalie can't hold onto a ball.
