Wii Fight Pad vs Arcade Stick

So I was planning to pick up Tatsunoko vs Capcom since the game is dirt cheap now and I did always want it, but like hell am I playing it with the Wiimote.

Looking at images of the dreamGEAR fight pad the d-pad looks really bad for fighting games and I can't find any other Wii pad in this style available. I've never been very comfortable with Arcade Sticks but this is because I've just never taken the time to properly adapt to them.

Has anyone used the dreamGEAR fight pad that can let me know what the d-pad is like? If it's not surprisingly good then I'll just buy 2 arcade sticks and learn to use them, but my ideal scenario is that the fight pad is better than it looks...

I'm afraid that and the Classic Controller Pro are really the only pad options for Wii that I know of.

However, if you prefer using PS1/PS2 pads and/or have a PS1/PS2-compatible fightpad/stick lying around, you may want to look into a Cube Joybox Pro. I grabbed a couple when TvC first hit (it and quite a few other games let you use the GC inerface) and they work without a hitch. No reports of input lag, either. Cheap, too!

I found that the controls on the wiimote + nunchuck setting are pretty amazing for an "easy mode scheme". However it does limit you quiet a bit. Can't do air combos that easily for example. But all your supers and a lot of your signature moves are there and you won't be at too much of a disadvantage if you use it. Hell Alex is easier to use because his grabs are just direction + button.
Even top player find Zero brain dead easy to use with this set up. However I'd figure you could get a classic control pro. It's actually rather nice to have for other games too.

Found a work around I'm happy with, adapter for the Wiimote to plug into a PS2 pad, and I'll just invest in one of those PS2 SEGA Saturn style pads I'd been meaning to get for my PS2 fighters, 2 birds with 1 stone! =D

Edit: Actually, on second thought, I'll go with that Cube Joybox Pro Pixelphile suggested, that way I can use the PS2 SEGA pad for Gamecube and Wii instead of just Wii. Thanks.
