Why is Superboy in a T-Shirt and Jeans?

You guys are forgetting he's a fictional character and are just stacking things in a way they wouldn't work.

Versus my idea was when they brought him back from the dead, he'd be stripped of powers and be a new beacon of hope for the DC universe. A mantel he takes on due to new found hope.

His suit could have even been reminicent of a Superman uniform... that's what I was hoping for at least.

Thing is, Superboy is a brand name. The name alone is worth money and they wanna keep that and make money off it.

Makes sense in the long run....

Right, right. But to make it work, it wouldn't be Kon-El/Conner. He's a teenager, filled with the baggage of having the most awesome big brother ever. He's not hopeful, he's anxious. He's angry. He's Clark is flux.

The blue ring requires true hope in the user in order to function. Hal had it only for a time, and could barely use it because his hope was insincere.

I'm not saying Conner couldn't have been a Blue Lantern, as you can twist the story and the character to do whatever you want. I'm just saying it's not true to the character as he's been presented.

And one day, when he's ready, he'll take up the Red, Blue, and Yellow, but I don't think he's there yet, and Johns story definitely seems to be about that transition in the character.

Superboy's a sure bet for success if they want to use him for a film because since Superman's rights are in dispute , Superboy could play out as Smallville because him being younger and all.
