Slow-motion definitely has that unique ability to elevate action scenes, and I totally get what you mean about how it adds artistry. "Bullet time" in "The Matrix" still blows my mind every time I see it, and the way it slows down those intense moments really amps up the stakes. Plus, "300" turned its slow-mo into a signature style that's hard to forget.
That said, I do think some modern films lean on it a bit too heavily. It can lose its impact if every other action scene tries to replicate that same slow-motion magic. For examples, I'd point to "Zack Snyder's Justice League", where it felt like some scenes dragged on unnecessarily. But then again, you have movies like "The Dark Knight" that sprinkle in slow-mo effectively without overdoing it.
What are some films you think nailed that balance? Or are there any recent ones where you felt it missed the mark?
