Why Did Saban's Other Shows Fail?

I just don't want them going the goofy angle... sci-fi it up a la SPD, Lost Galaxy, Space... do something action packed and bitchin'.

I lost my left eye when it burst while watching BBB.. Flabber and goofy monsters really made my teeth hurt.

I don't mind adaptations, cuz unlike the "hardcore" I realise the orginal still exists and still kicks ass.

So I end up getting two kick ass shows for the price of one. But I don't want my time wasted if they're going to make GS about 5 year olds and how they continually out smart their nanny, while for some reason jumping into giant vehicles to ward off... vegitables or something.

To be honest..

Power Rangers is cool but at the moment I'm getting a little fed up of Japanese shows being adapted into American shows.

Saban's Masked Rider was pure Crap and Kamen Rider Black RX is superior, not only that but Saban's Masked Rider was an insult to a Japanese legend. Big Bad Beetleborgs was an abominate waste of time, especially the way they screwed up B Fighter. Power Rangers Ninja Storm was the worst Power Rangers series ever, when I watching Ninpu Sentai Hurricanger while waiting for Ninja Storm to arrive on UKTV, I was thinking this was gonna be great, until I discovered it was a shocking abomination for a Power Rangers series. 4Kids's version of Ultraman Tiga was Racist, all these stupid Americanized Anime shows (OnePiece of Crap, etc..)..

I think this is happening too much and enough is enough. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and VR Troopers were the only good things they ever did to Japanese Liscenses (Ninja Storm being the sole exception), everything else just seems to be insults or just a total mess!!! It's time we all started apreciating Japanese shows the way they're surposed to me, not mess it up or "Americanize" it!!!

Next thing you know, we're gonna have Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera swipe BoA and Utada Hikaru's songs and screw them all up too. And have Missy Elliot rap about random crap, to worsen it up to the max!!! :nono:

As for the rumours about Gransazer being Americanized and competing with Power Rangers in a "Coca Cola vs Pepsi" style battle, and Kamen Rider Ryuuki being turned into something called "Future Dragon Riders".. all I can say is I hope it either gets cancelled, or becomes one of the most embarrassing failures since Saban's Masked Boner!!!

Right now I'm not too bothered about what the Power Rangers version of MagiRanger is going to be called (Power Rangers "Harry Potter Force" / whatever), since I'm currently already enjoying MagiRanger the way it is!! Power Rangers SPD was fine, but still not better than DekaRanger.

Every adapt just needs "proper" research...unfortunately, we, the US, lack that...that and the FCC would just go apshit for the most minor things possible...which is actually quite laughable. Unfortunately, it keeps us limited to ideas...yeesh.

For example...PRLG was technically Gingaman...only that the concept of Starship Troopers and Star Trek was applied to the Gingaman storyline.

Why they retitled Ryuuki..."Future Dragon Rider" is beyond me...like I said before...there's a dragon, but this ain't Time Force...just keep it "Masked Rider Dragon Knight" and be done with it, keep the whole Mirror World concept (perhaps make it even more abstract as it is), etc. etc. etc.

dude, if you dont like it, dont watch it. yeah we learned our lesson with Masked Rider. hell, Ishinomori-sensei was very cautious about letting saban have Kamen Rider after he saw what he did to ZyuRanger. but he gave it to him anyway and it was the worst thing saban ever did.

anyway, if you dont like it dont watch it. otherwise you just come off as a sentai snob.

Masked Rider - When I compare this to Black RX I both laugh and cough up blood because it disgusts me. They had a PR style story to it but this Ferbus crap just ruined it too.

Beetleborgs - Children who change into Adult sized heroes with a haunted house with monsters in it who run around pointlessly for 12 minutes per episode. Enough said.

VR Troopers - The only cool one out of the bunch if you ask me and I didnt really like this either. They reused the same damn footage OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER to the point I would once again cough up blood.

Mystic Knights - American Made. Enough said.

Saban's only success was Power Rangers and that is why we still have it today. I wonder who the writers of all those failed shows were?. **cough cough** Anyone know?.

Masked Rider- Ahh... There was alot Japanese footage mix up which it sucked. 3 or 4 shows have been used in Masked Rider. But I get over to it.

Beetleborgs- I liked that show. :confused2 I enjoyed B-Fighter and B-Fighter Kabuto footages in the show. Heh.

Mystic Knights: The show sucked so bad! Too cheesy. Ugh.

BBB and VR Troopers were the only other shows I liked from Saban, though it would be cool if a second attempt at a US Kamen Rider was done.

Saban's only success was Power Rangers and that is why we still have it today. I wonder who the writers of all those failed shows were?. **cough cough** Anyone know?.

Doug Sloan was a writer and big part of VR Troopers. then he joined PR in season 3 and was a big part of Zeo and wrote and directed the Turbo premire (not the movie). after that was of course NS and DT.

hell, VRT had alot of PR directors and crew and whatnot working on that. and i agree with you on the footage recycling. i d/l like 6 random eps and noticed it was the same footage over and over and just laughed.

as for the others i have no clue.

I admit that another attempt at Kamen Rider, given that PR has at least a -little- more depth and characterization than it used to, might be interesting. My main hope though would be that they wouldn't lose the whole plotline-and-seriousness thing, since PR has steadily gone from "episodic" to "episodic with underlying plot" but not really gotten too much more serious (not since PRT, anyway).

i'm calm i'm just saying. that's how he's coming off as. i do have a problem with sentai snobs but i also have a problem with anti-sentai people as well. i dont mind if you get all uppity about KR/MR because that makes sense.
