Why are the Super Hero Taisen films such a disaster?

A Kamen Rider and Sentai anime is never going to happen since I doubt Bandai wants two toy lines going on at the same time. A OVA series based on Spirits can work if they market towards a older audience.

Why you people keep saying that kamen rider/super sentai anime crossover film won't work first of all i mean kikaider and inazuman did a crossover anime special except it's based on the manga second of all ishinomori co created both franchise and you know what maybe a ova based on spirits would work if the mangaka would end this hiatus and end the manga series. But i still think that having a rider/sentai anime crossover is a good idea.

At the same time though, these movies require less from the current cast, since they often have guest stars or just suit-only appearances carrying the scenes. In SHTZ, Haruto never appeared out of suit after the first 30 minutes of the movie. Even in Kamen Rider Taisen, which integrated Gaim much better into the movie, Kouta's actor is still never on set with most of the guest stars (He appears alongside Tsukasa in a few scenes, but only once with Hongo and once with ZX) and he also never appears out of suit once the final battle starts, outside of the credits (where he just appears in Gaim's fruit place's set alongside Mai). You'd never be able to do that in a solo feature. They haven't really done a really big group shot with hundreds of suit actors since the original SHT anyway. Even solo movies often have sequences with tons of grunts or revived monsters together. They also seem to be fine throwing stage show quality suits on screen for minor past heroes and monsters in these movies.

Seriously, the more these garbage movies come out, the more of a waste of money they become. Does it do better than solo movies of Sentai and Rider? Maybe. But I can only imagine how difficult it must be to use more suits and make it not seem like a TV special.

You know what you two have a good point maybe i think giving the movies some high budget would make the movies improve ,changing the timeslot for both rider and sentai shows back to evening (that is 5pm) to get more ratings and make some good plots to both movies and not put some toy related items in it to make the viewers buy from the markets unless they are suitable to the plot of the movie.

Or maybe the companies should just go back to direct both future sentai and rider films through direct to videos and abandon the theater thing.

Doesn't matter if it's decreasing, as long as it's making a profit.

I would say that it DOES matter, considering that the full on Sentai teams were cut two movies later. While it did made some profit, in hindsight, the decreasing box office makes it sound like a bad business practice to me.

Like i said before the toei company should go back to film the sentai team ups and other future toei tokusatsu films through direct to videos Only.

Full Sentai appearances were cut in favor of a bigger Rider cast. It's not like they just reduced the cast. The original SHT only had Fourze, OOO and Decade for the Rider side, SHTZ only had Wizard's cast and in-suit Fourze cast (Fourze, Kyodain, Inazuman).

Comes KRT, we get Rider 1, X, ZX, Faiz, Decade, W, Wizard and Gaim. SHTGP has a more disappointing cast list, but you still have Black/Black RX, Faiz, Garren, with the other 3 Blade Riders making in suit appearances, and Zeronos in addition to Drive.

That's not how "business practice" works. As long as the films expect a profit, they'll do it, because it seems their business plan so far includes expecting receiving cash flow from the film's revenue during the time of the film's showing. (Which in Taisen's case, is during springtime).

Doesn't matter what happened to the Sentai movies. There are so many reasons they could've been cut (like the return not justifying the effort so choosing to concentrate more into the Taisen films). They're still gonna show something during April-May just so they have money coming in during that time. Maybe not Taisen, but something else.

Now, you might ask, why not save the money used for production? Because that means their assets (employees, designers) would not be put into maximum use in the meantime and they would be earning nothing as well. It's not like they can deposit their assets in the bank and earn interest, so they put it into use that has a good chance of earning them money. Stockholders don't invest for saving money, they invest for earning it.

They're just running their business properly.
