why are hks subs so crap

why are hks so crap espically on kamen rider i dont
have a problem with sentai but the subs for k.r.
are crap i mean how the hell does kikota sound like bagon

could someone please tell me why hks are so crap

It's because they translate from Japanese into Chinese and then into English. Additionaly because both Japan and China use the same characters in their traditioanl forms of writting... but with different meaning, it ads confusion to their interpretations. Also these are usually just pirating rings who don't give a crap about Kamen Rider and are just in it for the cheap fast bucks. Thus even though they could solve the problem by remembering to use the Japanese interpretation since it's a Japanese show, they don't.

"Oh Hello Chinese man! you speak Japanese and english? Great! Translate this! No you don't need to know wahts it's for. No we don't care that you're not fluent... do it anyway."

It's probaly even worse than that. They give it to one guy who knows japanese so they can sell their bootlegs in Hong Kong, then once translated pass THAT version to someone else entirely to do the English version. Also I reiterate the whole not caring thing.

That's why groups like Century Knights and TvNihon are so great. They acctually care about what they're translating and are putting it out free for Download.

My personal all-time favorite HK wacky sub is Shouichi in Kamen Rider Agito when in one episode he says "ikadakemasu" and it get's translated as "I WILL NOT BE STOPPED!" Yes it was even in all caps like that.

I guess you really don't want to mess with Agito when he's hungry. :laugh:

Then there's of course the Kuuga subs where Godai Yuuske's name is Wudai and then whatever random assortment of letters pops up in front of it at the time.

I nearly crapped myself laughing. I will not be stopped. LOL :laugh:

Oh yeah. I have that same version of the Kuuga subs. I love when they don't even TRY to get it right, and they put a "?????" or a "-Place Name-" instead.

The Wudai is explainable since that's what Godai's name is in Chinese. Wudai Xiongjia.

Some are better than others. My KR Blade HK DVD's were pretty good and I don't remember too many bad translations. Same for Dekaranger.

Early on tho, the Ryuki's... my mind was working on a different level as it attempted to associate the words with the Japanese words being said and then translating the translations to find the real meaning.

Unfortunately, my mind still calls the lawyer, Lawyer Bagon. :disappoin
