Crap Happens (2026) ~ When Life Hits Hard

I just finished episode 3 and honestly this show surprised me a lot. Toni feels like a real guy who messed up his life but now has to fix it. The son is annoying at first but then you see why he acts that way. The small town people are so strange in a funny way, like the old lady who keeps giving Toni weird advice. Humor is dry and sharp, not loud laughs every second. I like how it mixes serious father-son talks with stupid situations. Schneider is good, he makes you feel sorry for Toni but also laugh at him. Not perfect, some jokes miss, but overall it's worth the time if you like shows about grown-ups figuring life out. 6.3 on IMDb feels low to me. I'm giving it a solid 7.5. Already waiting for more episodes.

Watched the whole thing in two nights. German comedy usually doesn't click for me but this one did. Toni going back to that boring village and suddenly having a kid is chaotic in the best way. The rap scenes are cringe on purpose and that makes them hilarious. Dimitrij Schaad steals every scene he's in, his timing is perfect. It's not just jokes, it actually says something about being a dad when you're not ready and chasing dreams that might never happen. The ending of episode 8 almost made me tear up, didn't expect that from a comedy. If you like shows like After Life or Derry Girls but want something German, try this. Netflix did good picking it up.

This show is okay but nothing special. The story is predictable: guy returns home, finds secret kid, learns lesson. Seen it a hundred times. Humor is mostly small-town weirdos doing silly things, which gets old fast. Toni's rap career feels forced, like they needed something cool for the character. Acting is fine, Schneider is decent, but the kid actor is wooden sometimes. I laughed maybe three times total. The heartfelt parts are too slow and drag. If you're German maybe it hits different because of the village culture stuff, but for me it's just average Netflix filler.

Yo I’m hooked already after the first episode. Toni is such a mess and I relate way too much. Trying to be a rapper while dealing with real life responsibilities? That’s literally my 20s. The way the town people stare at him like he’s an alien cracks me up every time. The son is savage, keeps roasting his dad and it’s gold. Music in the show is actually decent too, not fake TV rap. It’s funny but also makes you think about what matters when life throws surprises. Schneider carries it so well, you believe every emotion. This is one of those shows that starts light and then gets deeper without feeling fake. Binge it, seriously.

The humor is quiet and clever, not in your face. Toni trying to rap in front of his son while the kid just rolls his eyes is comedy perfection. The town feels alive, every side character has their own weird thing going on. It’s about second chances but without being cheesy. Dimitrij Schaad is brilliant, he makes everything feel natural. I cried a little at the end of episode 9, didn’t see that coming. Please let there be season 2. This is the kind of show that stays with you after you finish. Highly recommend.
