Which next gen console to get?

Playing Gears of War co-op online was some of the most fun I've had gaming.

No doubt! I've also enjoyed Perfect Dark Zero co op online as well. Tackling the missions on the hardest difficulty setting is always fun with your buds.

I also loooove Burnout online. I suck at it half of the time but damn it can be intense.

The biggest selling point for the 360 was not just the games but how many went online and how fun they were online. Man, I had a bit of fun playing the Smackdown Vs Raw 07 game online. I made a really crazy looking character and hearing peoples reactions is priceless. Then seeing other people's CAWs is also a treat. One person had made Harry Potter and he came in on a Lawnmower.

Lost Planet was another beautiful game but I didnt play it online much. I cant wait for Halo 3. I only buy the Halo games for the Co Op but sadly, they said there wont be online co op. Just split screen (last I read). But that's fine by me. I'm used to split screen by now.

You know, if Wii had just put their games online, it would be a bigger hit. I would love to play Rayman, DBZ, Red Steel, and Excite Truck against people online. Nintendo dropped the ball on that, in my opinion

I'm not saying 360 is a bad system or anything, just that it's not for me which is why I say try before you buy. I really wanted one until I borrowed it and played it extensively. I didn't find much I really liked on it or anything that would justify me buying the system. More accurately, there was nothing I wanted I couldn't find elsewhere or at least something similar.

It's also worth pointing out that while PS3's online network isn't as streamlined or friendly as Live yet, it still works great and it's free. I've been having a blast playing lag-free 32-player Resistance matches. Motorstorm, Ridge Racer and Calling All Cars run really smooth as well. The open nature of the PS3 means you can also use existing USB or bluetooth headsets, keyboards and mice without having to buy more peripherals (provided you already own those things). You can also use PS2 controllers, dance pads, guitars and joysticks with a $15 adapter. Kind of a nice bonus.

I'm totally with you there. I would have bought a lot more Wii games if they were online. At least DBZ BT3 will be online and that alone might be worth buying a Wii for.

I'd like to point out that I'm not a huge fan of sports, while I do enjoy some FPSes, like Republic Commando I do get motion sickness easily so I can't play them for long. Plus, I rarely play online

In that case I definitely recommend waiting awhile before buying a system. Maybe even getting a Wii first since those games are built more towards offline play. The other systems are really being made with online play in mind so it might be better to wait and see what sort of offline games, like RPG's, make it out and how they fair.

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nuff Said.

Hmm motion sickness? Then Gears of War definitely might not be for you. That shaky cam can really do a number on you.

I dont like sports games either though. Most of the games I get are FPS, Action, RPG, and Racing.

But XBox has more games than just FPS. Quite a few action games and fresh RPGs coming out soon. If you dont play online then get a Wii. You have no idea what you're missing though. I used to not care about online, in gaming. Until I played some co op on the 360 online with my friends. Then racing people online and playing other games online, it's extremely fun. You can't imagine how much fun it is until you actually do it.

They did a simular thing in Republic Commando, and I wasn't so bad off while playing it. Just needed a break after an hour or so:redface2:

My bro has both a Wii and a PS3. I sadly, have neither. I'm thinking of a 360, however. 50$ price drop soon supposedly.

Definitely get a PS3. Advantages:

- Very well engineered: you won't have 33% breakdown rate as with the 360
- future-proof tech: cell processor and bluray. In fact, some game developers already complain of the limitations of the DVD's used on 360 (http://www.bizarrecreations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=14802&p=#p255611)
- built in BR-player
- Full HD support
- online gaming is free and Home is just a little bit away from being released
- Strong support from Japanese game developers
- Good games already out: Gundam Musou, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, MotorStorm, Resistance, Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection, etc
- Some very interesting exclusives on the way: Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Online, White Knight Story, Shin Sangoku Musou 5 (the next Dynasty Warriors), Tekken 6, Gran Turismo 5, the next Super Robot Taisen will also be PS3-exclusive, etc

Half a year ago the balance between getting a 360 and PS3 was still even but right now, PS3 is clearly the better choice.

That's an interesting point too. While a lot of what the companies spew is marketing BS, Sony does claim that they will support the PS3 for 10 years. No way to know if it's true or not, but look how long the PS1 and PS2 were viable platforms and Sony is actually still supporting the PS2 for another year or two. Microsoft dropped the original Xbox like a bad habit after a 5 year life cycle and introduced the 360. They've already said they're working on the next Xbox and plan a 5 year life cycle for the current one. Shitty when you think about all the peripherals and digital assets you have to purchase for these things. What happens to the downloaded games when the system is no longer supported?

Hey Alf, what's your PSN name?
