What happens when a group of capybaras are invaded by zombies and all sorts of horrible creatures? Well, they abandon their lackadaisical lifestyle, and fight back! See this unfold in the roguelite Extremely Powerful Capybaras, coming to console! If you have been on the internet in the last couple of years, you have probably heard of the capybara. This massive rodent took the web by storm, with its chill attitude and cute features being a driving factor. Of course, with this sort of popularity, someone was going to make a game all about these lovable guys. Enter PM Studios, who undertook the creation of a capybara game, which formed into Extremely Powerful Capybaras. The game is a roguelite experience, where you play as the titular capybaras under siege by a smorgasbord of monsters. With their lifestyle at threat, they choose to fight back, with a wide variety of tools at their disposal. You can choose between a couple of different classes, where each class has their own powers and styles. After you have made your choice, you face down an endless horde of monsters and tasked with fighting them. As you fight and slay more of the horde, you upgrade and obtain new […]

I like how this game mixes something cute like capybaras with something intense like fighting monsters. The roguelite design seems very rewarding, especially with the Capy-Coins that can be used for permanent upgrades. I usually enjoy games where progress carries over, because it feels like I am always moving forward, even if I lose. The class system also sounds fun, since it lets people experiment with different play styles. I think this will make the game very replayable, and I can see myself trying all the classes to see which one feels best.

I think children will love this game, but I also see adults who grew up with Beyblade enjoying it. The combination of nostalgia and modern graphics can make it appealing for a wide age group. The visuals shown look strong, and music can really make battles feel alive. I might even play this with my younger cousins.

My concern is about long-term support. A launch can be exciting, but what happens after a few months? If there are no updates or new content, players might stop quickly. I think the developers should plan seasonal events or new boosters so that people stay engaged for longer.

This is the first time I heard about Extremely Powerful Capybaras, and I am surprised it already had a PC release two years ago. I do not remember seeing much coverage back then. The move to consoles might finally give it the recognition it deserves. Capybaras have been trending online for years, so the timing feels perfect. It might even appeal to players who do not usually play roguelites, just because they like capybaras.

I like that the game does not force players into one type of build. The randomized skills and passives for each run keep things fresh. Some roguelites feel repetitive after a while, but this system could make every attempt feel different. The hub upgrades with Capy-Coins are also important, since it gives players long-term motivation. I wonder how balanced the upgrades will be, because sometimes these systems can make the early game too easy once you buy enough permanent boosts.

The release on all major consoles at once is a smart move. Too many indie games stay locked to one platform for years, which limits their audience. Having it on Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, and PC makes it easy for anyone to pick it up. The Switch version especially seems like a good fit, since roguelites usually work well for shorter play sessions on handheld. I just hope performance is solid, because poor optimization could ruin the experience.

I think the Bard class sounds interesting. Most games only include fighters, mages, or archers, but a Bard capybara with music-based powers is creative. If they really lean into making each class feel distinct, it could increase the replay value a lot. I wonder if the Bard can support teammates in co-op, or if it is more of a damage dealer. Support roles would make multiplayer more engaging.

This game feels like it is built for streaming and social media. The funny concept of capybaras fighting monsters is very shareable, and people will probably post clips of their runs. It is the kind of game that could gain attention outside of gaming circles. The randomness of roguelite runs means there will always be unexpected moments, which are perfect for short videos online.

The Cursed Gardens content being included at launch is a good sign. Sometimes console versions release missing updates or expansions from the PC version, and players have to wait. Here, they are making sure the content is complete from day one. That shows respect for the console audience. It also means players get to experience the full game immediately instead of catching up later. I think more developers should follow that approach.
