Whats good to get a friend into this stuff?..

Anyways... whats some good stuff to show a friend who would generaly consider stuff like this to be power ranger type cr** ?.. (err... u.s. versions of PR that is )

I'm thinking of burning a cd with

the first 5 episodes of

gransazer
garo
blade
kabuto
555
and maybe some shiva15 as well...

So he can get a nice little taste of it all... maybe throw on some movies onto the cd as well if there is space... after all its only a 4.7 gig dvd :S (err can we talk about that type of stuff here?.. I figure we can since we have links here to download the episodes as well )

I don't really know what else to show my friend... heck the above list covers most of what I have had time to download and check out my self :laugh: though I am hooked on it all by now, or at least the KR series... Should I include some den o on there too?.. I like it but someone who has not checked out the other KR series may find it ... a bit too goofy to get into since its more humor based than the other series the other series I find to be a bit more adult ish and violent I guess... for some parts anyways... does that make sense?..

My friend is generaly into scifi things like transformers & anime ect comics too like most so I think he would like this stuff if he could just get past the entire power rangers aspect of it all...

I've tried Agito, Kabuto, Garo, and they've always put my friends off toku for a while and when I show them 555, the instantly get into. My lord, I don't know what it is about that damn show, Takumi being a dick, Kiba and his bishounen angst, but you show it to someone and it will get them into toku, it's the gateway drug into toku.

Alternatively find out what they like and appeal to it. I found Blade appealed more than 555 because I liked the card system where as 555's equipment just makes me shrug and think "It's a phone.. can't you just call the ghost busters and stop your emo weird underwear stuff already?"

Don't let Gransazer anywhere near your friend since it's basically a power ranger-looking show.

But start off with Faiz. What Ryoutarou says is basically the same for me. I showed my friends Faiz and they were instantly hooked. It basically brought them out of the closet.

You have the best chances with Faiz and Garo

Seiun Kamen Machineman. It's a dark/gothic tokusatsu, certainly by far the darkest tokusatsu anyone will ever see. Toei was flooded with complaints of viewers fainting back in the day and it was canceled due to how terrifying it was. It really is like watching some snuff film with a bizarre and perverse twist on superheroes. There's no way this show would would be legal in the States...
