although the Showa Ultramen themes are sung by kids, they are actually heroic themes with strong, powerful lyrics. the reason why Ultramen songs were sung by kids, is because the notion that Ultramen were the children's hope were extremely strong in those days.
Well when it comes to Ultra themes, Project DMM does a pretty good job (their song for Ultraman Noa is TERRIBLE though). But my personal favorite Ultra soundtrack is The Next, perfect mix of rock and orchestra, some of the best Guitar playing I've ever heard and the music sounds very epic. That Never Good bye song however is meh though.
Also the song Mirai by Kiyoshi for the Mebius movie really shows the greatness of 40 years of Ultra
Eiyuu, though a good song, isn't really much of an Ultraman theme. its a song about heroism, and putting others above yourself, regardless of your gender. it can be used for any genre of Tokusatsu, as with all the other songs in Nexus.
Ultraman Gaia's OP is probably my favorite of the Ultra songs. It has that heroic style of old, but a dash of the new. The song's best when Tanaka sings it with Takayuki Miyauchi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhXmfh3Pz5A
Ultraman Cosmos has a good ED for The Blue Planet. But my favorite Ultra theme is definitely Mirai (ED to Ultraman Mebius and Ultra Brothers movie). It really shows the legendary saga of Ultras, and the spirit of Ultras. Also the Ultraman vs Kamen Rider song was pretty good too
Also for Sentai themes, Zyurangers OP, Kakuranger OP, and GoGo V OP would have to be my favorites.
And for KR >.> definitely The Agito OP, Kuuga's ED Aozora Ni Naru + its english version, Fight V3, Kamen Rider Black OP, Star Lullaby (from KR Black), and most of all, "Lets Go Rider Kick!" live version :buttrock: this one right here
