I like to get things quickly , to be honest. But on the other side, this is free, i havent preordered or bought anything to get those subs. So yes when its about a show you expect seeing it takes years is a bit annoying. Thats why maybe some projects should be done in a partnership sometimes.
Video quality: as long as i can see what happens clearly, and that the video is decent, i dont mind. I mean i can even watch stuff with old video tape quality
When i watched liveman subs(first subs from guis, they later improved videos), some videos were not that good at first, but i didnt really mind and enjoyed the show fully.
Last point, translations: who speak japanese? Not everyone here. So to be entitled to judge translations, you have to know japanese, to practice it.
As long as something becomes popular, people will like to blame it, in video games, in cinema, in anything. T-N sure had communications issues, maybe be that whats happen when a group becomes too big.But i admit i dont have the skills to say their translation is poor.

It doesn't matter if you cannot spot the errors. If several people (experts included) told you there are errors, with some of them changing the sense of scenes completely, shouldn't you be considering better alternatives?

You are talking about people in a fandom that were ok with the RRR subs of zyu and time. It was 100% guess subs based on fan synopsis.

Since fansubs are undergound, its only up to us to decide if we trust , or not , experts. Sadly i dont think there is on HJU a subber from T-N that would ahve time to come and defend their translations.
There is no one to defend their translations, so the whole debate only goes in one direction.
Many people bash because they decide its fun to bash. They dont really care about translations, just see a new toy and use it.
