What do you like about Kamen Rider Den-O

So where's the Den-O appreciation threads? :laugh: I'll take a gamble on this.

So what do you like about Kamen Rider Den-O?

I'm probably alone in this, but much like High School, I don't do things to be popular. I basically like almost everything about the show. Every Rider show has its quirks, and some of them take a while to get used to (i.e. - usually, the armor).

Granted, if you're not familiar with Japanese culture, you'd have to do a little homework (especially with Den-O), but once you're familiarized with it, the characters and story make more sense. Just a few days ago, I went back and watched the first two episodes just out of boredom, and I enjoyed it probably more than the first time.

My only gripe is the fights with the Imagins in Gigandeath form. Those scenes just seemd kind of out of place for KR, IMO. However, they seemed to improve on it later for Kiva, and even moreso (so I hear) for the Decade movie.

I liked it a lot too and it was the first Kamen Rider I watched unless you count the stock footage used in Saban's Masked Rider which I doubt most people do but either way this was a heck of a good series even if a lot of other fans disagree with me.

I liked Den-O because it didn't need a GrimDark nonsence story, The main hero was an Underdog becoming a man, He didn't need no bullshit reason to fight he would give his life up for humanity, The character chemistry was spot on, The story while slowly developing was all worth it at the end, Zerono's is one of my favorite riders, The end of time is much more scarier then a bunch of green aliens who pretend to be people taking over the earth.

Pretty much everything. There really wasn't a bad moment in Den-O for me.

My only wish is that Kei got some backstory.

I couldn't agree more, Bmoney. I think the reason I liked both Den-O and Kiva were because Ryutarou and Wataru reminded me a lot of myself (Ryutarou being clumsy as hell, and Wataru being the shyest, non-social person on the planet).

Exactly! People always seem to forget all the great character development from that series! Sure, it isn't "RUN AWWWAAAAY" to "I'M GONNA BEAT THE CRAP OUTTA YA", but that subtleness is what makes it so great! I was just thinking about this yesterday, and I realized that in like the first episode Ryotaro REALLY didn't want to jump off the top of a warehouse or something (who would?), but in the last episode I'm pretty sure that he just slammed into the villain and toppled off of it with no hesitation. Plus, it was a really original idea to see a weak, scared guy become a Kamen Rider and watch him grow because of it.

I liked episodes 1 - 27.. it was fun & had a good feel to it. I really enjoyed all of the movies. They're just great. lol idk why.

Takeru's so cute! Plus you can really see how he grew as an actor over the course of the show.
