What are your hopes for Sentai 2007 and PROO?

What I would like to see. Just MHO.

For Sentai: A continuation of changing up the standard format the way Boukenger has. Also the shows really good design sense and the Red who is actually a strong leader. Preferably a serious premise more pointedly focused on fighting the monsters. One and only one combiner. It can get new weapons and equipment but nothing junky. No power animal pile-ons.

The team blaster weapon. This has been bugging me for awhile. If the monster just gets back up to grow again after being hit by it then the whole thing feels pointless. Either just don't have the team blaster or why not allow this weapon to actually be effective and create something else for the robot fight?

For Rider: Riders fighting monsters instead of each other. No cooking anime style wackyness or characters who behave as if they are in a comedy anime or like they need to be in a padded room. A non-ego driven, more straight up heroic protagonist. Limited number of other Riders (3-4 at maximum) and no really obnoxious Bandai-quota type gimmicks like cards or musical instruments. Very limited number of alt. forms if any at all. Bring back the bike stunts!

Sentai 2007:
Have a good story and interesting characters and great villians

PROO:
Be better than MF

QFT.

As for Sentai even without seeing it I doubt i'll like it. ever since 2002 when I started watching both Sentai and Rider I've noticed that it alternates each year. Either I like Sentai and don't like the Rider or vise versa. Loved Hibiki but hated Magiranger, flip it for this year. next year will probably be back.

You're right. The team cannon/blaster/bazooka/pseudo nuke looks powerful, but is practically spat on once the monster grows. But it's not the usefulness that counts, it's ultimately the sale of the toy that counts. That's why Sentai/PR tend to stick with the team finisher weapon. To make it flashy enough for the target audience to go out and buy.

Really? I've never seen them on sale except for the original Power Rangers blaster weapon AKA Zyuranger's Howling Cannon and that was just the weapons sold as a deluxe set which could then be combined.

I can remember the Power Rangers figures comming with their own individual weapons which you could put together to form the Power Blaster.

*sigh* Good Times!!

Sentai: All I want from the next Sentai is good writing. Something that's actually entertaining. Abaranger was better than Boukenger in my mind, despite it's extreme sillyness.

PROO: To continue to better itself and for the love of god dont pass up the chance at adding continuity! It's like the japanese WANTED us to add in rich bits of PR continuity into PROO. Dinos, Ninjas, Putties, Demons, good god. Take advantage of it dammit!
