Well, I've done it.

VengeanceGOD

WIIIIIIIIIIII!
I've given up on my sacred oath to Never Watch a Sentai Before it Airs as Power Rangers. (It's sorta like Batman's oath, but not as badass. :) ) I started watching Magiranger. And...I love it.

Seriously, I love this show. Sure, it's not deep, it hasn't got a hell of a lot of plot, and before everyone starts yelling at me that Magiranger doesn't represent sentai...I know. But, I'm enjoying the hell out of myself watching it, and I can't wait to see what's coming up next. I love the family dynamic, the suits and mecha are awesome, Wolzard is the friggin' God of Badass, (why, oh WHY doesn't he just kill Branken and take over?) and I love the whole "individual courage teaches them a new spell" thing every ep. The show's just hella interesting. I need to get into some more sentai, maybe when SPD ends I'll pick up Deka, or see if there's somewhere I can pick up Zyu or Dai, all of which I know have completely different feels from Magi.

In other news, the curse has finally lifted and I finally found myself enjoying an episode of Faiz. We'll see if it continues.

Have you checked out GoGoV? They did the family dynamic pretty well as well if I do say so myself.

You should also try watching some older Sentai. Maskman, Flashman, GoggleV, Bioman, etc. And some newer ones like Dekaranger and Hurricanger.

I'd love to get my hands on some of that older stuff. Problem is, I don't know where or how...I can get the Oh vs Car movie and the Kibaranger saga on VHS in my local Japantown, which I'll probably grab, but other than that, I'm just not sure.

I used to follow that oath aswell back in like 1998. But then I really started enjoying the Sentai I watching and didn't give a **** anymore about the oath.

I've got nearly all the post Zyuranger sentai on either VHS or VCD if you're interested. Plus most of the sentai teamups.

So... you.... you like Magiranger....

*vomits*

Jesus, how do people get into that show? It's so fruity and sparkly that it makes me sick to my stomach, not to mention every character is a girl (despite their actual sex). Wolzard might seem badass, but in reality people, he's wearing a big purple rubber suit. That and the Magiranger are about as tough as a preschool full of one-legged kids. I just... don't see the attraction.

Whatever.

I believe there was a site selling DVD's. Or you could always go to CDJapan (prepare to have your wallet owned though XD)

You're entitled to your opinion. I don't go to Toku just to see Super Badass characters and deep plots ALL the time. I enjoy shows that are just about pure fun too.

O_o I don't find that assumption very correct. Bolt has expressed he likes Justirisers, and Justirisers' plot really isn't that deep at all. I have to admit it's pretty generic at time, but is executed extremely well. And is a pretty fun series as well...

I agree with Bolt's opinion of Magi. The cast acts like they're 5, the fight choreography is just ridiculously weak. The script and acting is absolutely horrid. The characters are so over the top, how can anyone relate to them or like them? The show is a bunch of bells, whistles and annoying effects. No substance.
