Watchmen (film) review, it ain't that good.

Nope, loved the comics, still laughed my ass off during the movie. Scenes like Harry and MJ dancing and Emo Peter were just over the top. The first battle where Peter is out of costume and swinging around on a web shooting web balls out of his wrists was also :laugh:. I forget some other scenes.

I always get a chuckle out of people that spew that crap "You arn't a real fan of so and so if you blah blah blah"... The fact is a lot of SM3 was silly ****. And the few comic scenes, were worth laughing at.
What hatian said about the rest of it.

I have no expectations for the film because I never really intended to watch it.
Anyway, are you guys going to take the stupid reviews for truth? Seriously, when the movie comes out, get off your fat ass and see the damn movie yourself. Who cares what others think. Listening to other people's crap is just going to lead you to talking crap about it, and soon everyone will think the movie is just complete garbage.

You guys are already probably flipping out in RAAAGE, yet, I still have yet to see what the hell is so wrong with these movies. Your opinions are probably all skewed by other people's opinions.
Seriously, today's reviews are by no one other than idiots wanting to find something else to complain about, because it doesn't match the standards of one of their "classics". They just can't learn to step out of their box and enjoy what the hell is on the screen, and appreciate the effort that went into the film. And I don't care how reputatable the reveiwer is. It's complete garbage.
Long story short: Anyone who is willing to take a review as truth is an idiot. Watch it yourself.

Like I said earlier, most of my expectations and fears came from what I've seen of the movie, my knowledge of the screenplay, and my knowledge of the director. Snyder's already shown his incompetence with the material and shown his willing to cut plot points in favor of his stupid extended 300 gore and slow mo. He's shown his understanding of the material is pretty much equivalent of a High School jock, like lets use the Ozymandias for an example in interviews he's stated something on the lines of "Well when I read the ending I was like thats it? When are they gonna kill this bad guy?" Which if you know the material none of that would really apply and wasn't the intention. Ozymandias is the antagonist, you get the feeling he's the antagonist throughout the whole comic, but just that a feeling and it isn't painfully obvious. But the point is not that he revealed as the antagonist but there's heroism in his acts. Now what Snyder did with him judging from his look, feel, dialogue, and just the general direction he took Ozy in is pretty much this "HURRR HE'S THE BIG BAD GUY, MAKE HIM LOOK LIKE A BIG BAD GUY, MAKE ALL HIS CHARACTER SONGS DARK AND EVIL, HE'S EVIL EVIL EVIL". Thats what I am talking about with expectations, and thats just one example, I can go on from just my offhand knowledge of Snyder and just from the general direction of the film but I don't want to turn this post into one big LiveJournal worthy rant.
Besides you're taking things to extremes, sure people can set up expectations that a film will suck or be the best thing since sliced bread, but does it necessarily mean said people will definitely see or not see the film? No, contrary to popular belief.
tl;dr there's nothing wrong with having expectations even negative ones.
Well if all reviewers are "****" like you say then whats stopping something like Disaster Movie winning an Oscar? There's nothing wrong with being a critic and pointing out flaws, because if there's a problem with a movie and you're a reviewer guess what your job is? State the problem. See when reviewing, pretty much judging, the quality of a film you can't just "ignore" the problems a film has, that destroys the point of it all. But lets be fair, it does help if critics and reviewers can view a film on more than one viewpoint, from a professional viewpoint, from an average joe viewpoint, from a fan viewpoint, from a critic viewpoint, from a writer viewpoint, etc. Like lets use your Bayformers example, from the professional viewpoints yes Bayformers has a good deal of problems and a fan will probably cringe at all the changes and plotholes, but an average joe movie goer might still sit down and enjoy it.
And watch it with the last bit, you're kind of doing the same thing the reviewer did but from the opposite view point so the same could apply to you.
And about the two movies you mentioned, one wrong forum pretty much most people here aren't the enamored Bayformers or AvP haters that are so vibrant elsewhere. As for Bayformers it has good deal of problems but its still enjoyable from a movie goer standpoint. Don't give a rats ass about the AvP series so I don't particularly care about those movies.

Whew. I'm glad I'm not alone. I personally liked the movie, it's not THAT bad. I wish Venom would stay there longer.
I'm glad that there will be the fourth Spider-man film soon.
As for Watchmen, I will judge this and see if I like it or not. I just read the comic, chapter 1 up to chapter 4. It is crazy and interesting.

I'm just saying, this "You're wrong!" stuff that you do isn't necessary. You don't have to challenge everybody's opinion all the time. Some people just don't want to argue. And note that I'm actually being nice and tactful about this.

OHHHH so when people are discussing stuff, and you say something some one might disagree with , you just want other people to not say anything in response to what you said. Gotcha. I will avoid replying to things you say, and stick to replying to things other people say that can handle it better. I'm sorry I upset you so badly. :thumbs:
