Why not? I've seen people arguing that T.J. was a bad leader because "Tommy would have known about the fully functional Zeo Zords sitting in the Command Center's hangar bay."

And that's a stupid thing to argue about too. Stuff like this is the writers fault for not thinking of ways around this like getting rid of the Zeo zords. What you said about Zordon not telling them about all those things like Ninjor or the Alien rangers is a bit unfair. No show just has the leader go up to his team and tells them every possible answer to anything that could happen right away. It's a tv show it needs twist and surprises or else you wouldn't feel shocked when you see a megazord get destroyed cause then you just know where they can get the new one.
Last time I checked Zordon was trusting them with a fire extinguisher.
