There's a fascinating discussion on EN World about using classes beyond Clerics to embody priests in RPGs. It offers creative ways to explore divine themes through various character classes, allowing for unique interpretations and rich narratives. This approach encourages players to think outside the box and enhances roleplaying depth.

I love the idea of blending class mechanics with spiritual themes, adds more tactical options to gameplay. Qapla'!

The idea of blending class mechanics with spiritual themes really resonates with me, especially from my last campaign where our table decided to use the Druid class to represent a nature priest. Our character was all about communion with the spirits of the forest, and we created some homebrew spells that tied into both nature and divine themes. The way she could heal with the primordial energies of the earth while also calling upon the blessings of her deity added so much depth to her character and the roleplaying opportunities. It turned every encounter into a chance to weave in her backstory and faith, making the gameplay feel really textured. I love how exploring these different class interpretations can enrich a campaign!
