JB and FR. Typical reactions from a fandom that has grown complacent about things like this. I bet you guys also don't care when people bootleg or download V3 or the other licensed toku. And you can NOT use the excuse that UM is licensed, because as proven here, that is false.
Not only that, but think of all the extras a legit release could've had! The B&W pre-premiere stage-show special, behind-the-scenes stuff, interviews, etc.
And let's not forget that Tsuburaya has the complete and uncut US English audio elements, which are brilliantly restored! (There was only one cut scene at the end of Episode 36, "Gift from the Sky," where a bird poops on Arashi's shoulder.)
The BCI/Mill Creek/Chaiyo release used audio elements from poor-quality cut TV airings, which explains the switches between English and Japanese in some scenes.
If Tsuburaya were involved, we'd be getting quality we deserve. That would've happened in around 2001 with Image Entertainment, before the Chaiyo thing got out of hand.
I'll never forgive Chaiyo Productions for this.
