Ultraman Moebius questions

1) Is the man who played Kotaro Higashi/Taro the only alumnus who didn't return? Why didn't he? (Assuming he's still alive.)

2) Who is the Ultra to Leo's left in the finale, just after the Brothers restore the Sun to normal?

3) Why are only Daigo, Asuka and Gamu featured in the second movie? What happened to Musashi (Cosmos), Komon (Nexus) and Kaito (Max)?

1) Is the man who played Kotaro Higashi/Taro the only alumnus who didn't return? Why didn't he? (Assuming he's still alive.)

He separated from Taro at the end of his series, I believe, and left to wander the Earth.

The actor's still alive and a busy man, as I understand it. You can see him in many of the 90s Godzilla movies, actually.

2) Who is the Ultra to Leo's left in the finale, just after the Brothers restore the Sun to normal?

Astra, Leo's twin brother.

3) Why are only Daigo, Asuka and Gamu featured in the second movie? What happened to Musashi (Cosmos), Komon (Nexus) and Kaito (Max)?

Because Tiga, Dyna, and Gaia are a sort of trilogy, if you will. They were very popular and were the series that restarted the franchise after the long hiatus since 80. Money-wise, it just made more sense to bring those three back.

For the sake of consistency though, it would have made sense to feature all the Heisei Ultras, just as the first movie featured the Brothers (Though I wonder why Leo and 80 didn't appear in the movie.)

So Taro's actor was just too busy to return? Did he even show up in the 40th Anniversary party that you can see in the Moebius/Ultra Brothers end credits?

Saburou Shinoda's also made convention and PR appearances in Japan. He still seems quite content with his involvement of Ultraman Tarou!

Then why his absence in Moebius, assuming scheduling conflicts were not the problem?
