TvC Opening Theme: Original or U.S. Version?

Okay, so I just heard the US version of the Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom opening, "Across The Border", and I'm...less than happy with it. What do you think sounds better?

...they could've just got someone from Aniplex or Funi to sing the English Version.

I just wish that they'd gone with a different theme song from the beginning. It seriously doesn't fit the mood of the game. Maybe in the style of one of the old-school Tatsunoko theme songs. Something heroic, or at least more action-packed.

Having said that, I think the original is a little bit better than the other one.

I sorta like the US theme. The inexplicable rapping makes me really nostalgic for Street Fighter 3 and MvC2...

I'd understand SF3, but MVC2 was more jazz than anything.

I actually prefer the original to the latest version, if not for the accompanying opening cutscene as opposed to a bunch of stills, text and gameplay shorts the new intro is displaying.

But enough of that; I'm disappointed in the soundtrack in general. I'm guessing licensing issues pretty much prevented the original theme songs for the Tatsunoko characters?

True the character specific tunes are gone though I don't think the techno themes are that bad. Some are even a little catchy:anime:
