My dad found in our storeroom an old computer. Yes, a very, very old computer.

It's an IBM computer. The one with two floppy disk drives and no CD-Rom drive. I think these type of computer was used two decades ago.

My mom wants to get rid of it. But she don't want it to dispose in the garbage.

Any suggestions?

Unfortunately there is little you can do since it's a hazardous waste. Best bet, take it to a computer store so they can recycle it.

^^^ Not true at all. It depends on the school. Most will NOT accept anything older then a Pentium II and that's pushing it.

OMG

Here they work on 486s and that's still a waste. ANY computer that boots could be useful IMO.

2 decades old? 1337! Those are fun.

Ebay it. Seriously, vintage computers are collectors items these days. People will pay big bucks to get their hands on them.

A "classic" IBM could easily score you a couple hundred dollars.

Yeah, old computers shouldn't be destroyed, recycled or whatever. They should be given to someone who will appreciate them as vintage items. Someday I hope to get a nice collection of old Tandy computers.

thanks for all your suggestions. maybe I'll try E-baying it.

Is it possible to sell it even if I don't know if it's working or not?
