At first people were trashing the show based on looks, and now it's being called one of the best TF series in awhile.

I respect your opinion but by no means G1 is the best transformers show, yes it might have been the root of everything and I understand that Transformers would not be what it is now without it but anyone who thinks it is better than say beast wars and even animated (while it has a controversial style for the fandom the writing and animation quality, quality not style, is by far better than what the g1 tv series has come up with) is wearing a fine pair of rose tinted glasses because the quality of transformers shows has only gotten better (with the exception of the unicron trilogy, even though it had some defining moments, it was handled like crap).

You tell him you respect his opinion then you **** on it? You can't say you respect what he said and then tell him is opinion is wrong. G1 started in the US and went all the way through Beast wars neo. So while you might not think Gen1 is the best, there are a lot of us that do. IMO the new animated series sucks totally. the only one that was good out of the unicron trilogy was Armada, I hated how Energon was using cgi and anime, they should of stuck with anime cause the characters looked a hell of a lot better, I recently finished watching Japan's Season 4 of G1 Transformers, The Head Masters Saga, it was pretty good

You can respect someone's opinion, while still disagreeing with them.

Also, G1 ended with Beast Machines. Depending on which version of events you prefer, both BWII and Neo either took place long before (US comic version), or during (Japanese version) the events of Beast Wars. So regardless, it wouldn't be the last series in the line.
