Transformers: Heroes

I've seen enough to say "yeah, they suck".
That pretty much makes it seem like you're condemning all TF anime while only having seen four, one of which was rushed out of production, one of which was cut short and you've never seen the original versions of any of them. As I've said before, compared to Galaxy Force, Cybertron was a very different show. You're basing your opinions of badly edited dubs and not the source material, that's hardly fair if you ask me.

There's the warp field, the POSING at the end of the transformations, the somewhat odd power-ups and abilities they manifest (Energon Optimus) that just smack of Sentai.
That IS what a lot of Super Robo shows are like, that's what a lot of Japanese super hero shows are like in general. Posing, Weird backgrounds when they transform, power ups, that stuff has been around for ages, probably long before the TF anime.

But how much of that originated with Super Robo shows and how much was influenced by Sentai and to a lesser degree KR?

I remember watching the adventures of New Gigantor (sic) decades again, I don't remember that much posing to be honest.

the warp field, or generic background, has been around anime ever since stuff started transforming on regular occasion and they wanted to recycle sequence for cheap.

I was going to respond to this thread but Ryotaro already perfectly summed up my thoughts ... it saves me time

Also, yes, things like power-ups, generec posing and recycled transformations have been around since before Ishinomori's productions. That's where he got some of his ideas I suppose. Just take an old show like Mazinger Z and you'll already see lots of that.

Basically I think these are all signature moves in a lot of anime and more specifically robot anime.

I remember watching Mazinger Z (or Tranzor Z) and while I remember the flashing background AND in the new adventures of New Gigantor, him using that flying kick as his finisher OVER and OVER again.

I'm wondering which really came first and influenced the other more, Toku or Super Robo.

- Animation studio NOT Gonzo ... rather it's Answer and Mook. Whether they're associated with Gonzo, no idea.

Me no like. Gonzo did a great job with Galaxy Force/Cybertron

- Not "anime"

Potentially good.

- Only TF related writer that's even submitted details/info is a guy who did some story editting on Beast Machines (ie: NO BEAST WARS WRITERS)

DEFINATELY BAD! BM was the worst by far of any Transformers show I've seen. Damn techno organic Cybertron...

- Character design ... guy from Teen Titans, Legion of Superheroes, Fosters...

Bad. I don't like kiddy robots that look like sickly stick figures.

- Director ... did work on Teen Titans, X-Men Evolution

Might offset the above in that TT and XME had some good directed episodes.

- Cartoon Network is partner in the show, not just the airing network
Another bad. They'd want to make it either slow and boring like their other venture, IGPX, or wacky and crazy like everything else.

The overall look is brand new ... like nothing seen before in Transformers. It will not look like the Amarda/Energon/Cybertron trilogy.

I guess going back to the 80's style is out then? Maybe if they could somehow make it look like some of the comics I've seen...

seriously, I would like a straight answer from Hasbro why they don't tap as much of the Beast Wars writing team as possible for every series. I mean the official Hasbro TF comics had retconned most of Beast MAchines, why let anyone touch it.

Well the scuttlebut is Hasbro got involved with the creative process during the third season of BW to the point that everyone there left and refused to work with Hasbro again which maybe why they had to go with a completely new group to animate BM. Something similiar happened with Series 3 I believe when they started getting more involved there which is why you see a large number of the original characters who weren't killed just disappear from the series all together.

Personally, I liked the graphics and most of the look for BM, just not the overly religious and spiritual storyline. And the decision to go with Super-powered martial arts theme in hindsight, not a good move.

But the Vehicons, and Megatron himself, they looked really good.
