As far as my knowledge goes...
Maskman was popular amongst older audiences. To some extent it was also iconic in Brazil (though not like Changeman and Flashman). Maskman was also very popular in the Philippines, like Shaider and Bioman. There's heated debate amongst Filipino fans over which Sentai was better. Bioman or Maskman.

There rumors back then that the rival station of GMA, would do a remake of Maskman! Probably seeing how fail Zaido is, they decided to cancel it. Good job! :thumbs:

Currently, the only decent toku here in the Philippines are those that came from the Agimat series. Current series by the way is Tonyong Bayawak (roughly translated as Lizard Tony). I think the producers or writers is/are fans of Kamen Rider, he did a thumbs up while in costume!

really? Agimat series is good? I never dared to watch those..a few years back I have read rumors of a justice league like series of Mars Ravelo's heroes...Lastikman, Dragonna, Tiny Tony, Varga, Kapitan Boom and Flash Bomba...seems that they put the project on hold..but I just researched and seems they will push through with it

If only because it's not really Toku, but a Very Typical Philippine Soap Opera(TM) with Toku costumes.

zaido was NOT liked by filipino majorities.

Bloody hell, from Flordeluna back in the 70's up to Sa Dulo ng Walang Dulo ng walang dulo~~~ehek. You know what I mean. Every freaking Filipino Soap Opera has the same plot, and Zaido was essentially the same as every Soap Opera only the characters wear metallic spandex. Toei was right not to allow the Philippines rights to use the actual characters.

...I miss Ricky Davao's stint as Kidlat, back in the 80's...

Partially fixed; though I think if there were a network here with much less Executive Meddling I'd like to see them do a "traditional" toku.

BUT in case those tow would produce toku, I prefer ABS-CBN to do it. Sure the action is slow but they LOVE teasing us with the fight scenes in the first episode.
