Toku loving parents...

I just thought about something.
Few of us will become mothers and fathers in the future and we will still be toku fans
It's no doubt that our children will be introduced to the world of toku as a child
But what do you think would happen if they grew out of it?
Much like PR watchers, many of them grew up and viewed it as silly and to those who still like it are viewed very negatively.
If your child grew into a teenager and you were still watching toku, do you think your children would grow embarrassed of you?
I mean... I would definately be embarrassed if my parents were hardcore toku fans and had toys, belts, and merchendise in the house for my friends to see.

What do you guys think?

Well... I'm female so I can't be sexist. I just assumed the majority of the posters in here were males.

Glad to know you're a mother. What do you think about this though? Your kids might like it now but what do you think will happen when your children grow out of that whole phase?

Kids? Man, **** that. I've got enough sense in my head to know that kids have no business raising kids, so yeah. Don't ever look for a Sage Jr.

On the off chance I DID have a kid though? I'd expose them to Toku and as many H-B/WB cartoons as possible. Helps make them cultured, ya know.

I'd raise my kids to be more open minded and accepting than that, just as I was raised.

A majority of kids will hit that age when they think that anything their parents like is automatically uncool, however, but that's also something I was taught better than and it's a lesson that I would teach on.

Yeah right....I try to say I'll never have kids, but I know I will fall like the rest of you. And if and when I do, of course I'll smuther them with toku. My mom has come in on my a few times watching things like Ultraman Max and Kamen Rider Amazon and seemed interested.

But then again.. Just now I've been thinking.. what if she might want to be a mother herself? Then she'll probably have to promise me to limit it to only 1 kid (meaning she'll have no brothers or sisters). And who knows, maybe we'll give birth to a cute little girl, who'll grow up to be a model (or something :redface2: )..

And yeah.. I don't see why I shouldn't get her into Toku. Maybe I'll make her watch a few episodes of Kamen Rider Black and RX, Gavan, Flashman, Liveman, ZyuRanger, Jetman, GoRanger, Winspector.. maybe I'll make her watch some of the newer stuff too.. MagiRanger, DekaRanger, Kamen Rider Kabuto.. maybe I'll make her watch the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and SPD too..

But then again.. she'll probably have her own interests too. Probably some Japanese BoyBand..

And then there would be stuff that I'd rather commit suicide than encountering. School, Bullying, Homework, Toy Shops, Spanking, Pocket Monney, Family Holidays..

And when she grows up to be a teenager who knows what taste of music she'll have? Coz she'll be playing it in full vollume and I'll be forced to put up with it (well.. unless iPODs will still be in fashion, then she'll be listening to it with headphones on).

Back when I was a teenager I used to listed to SHITTY MUSIC on Galaxy 105 (if you live in the UK you'll know what that is). And I listened to it on my GhettoBlaster in full vollume in my bedroom, and my parents could hear it downstairs in the living room. And they kept getting pissed off about it and and forced me to turn it down so low that I couldn't hear a damn thing. I used to love this sort of music back when I was a teenager, but today when I look back I feel embarrassed about it coz it's REALLY SHITTY MUSIC!!

But right now it's too early to think about this stuffs, so for now I'll enjoy my limited time in my parents house, watching Toku, learning Japanese, still searching for a job and a girlfriend too!! :laugh:

By the time you have a child, Dekaranger will be considered as old stuff and Gavan as waaay too old stuff. :laugh:

Honestly, I'll introduce toku to my kids when they're young. Might be hard though, cause by the time they can read subtitles, they might already have opinions on the whole thing. But if it really embarasses them, too bad for them :anime:
