Thundercats voice actors reunite at Undiscovered Realm, sharing behind-the-scenes stories, favorite episodes, and fan moments. The panel at Undiscovered Realm in White Plains, New York, began with moderator Mike Lopez welcoming the audience and introducing the voice actors from the Thundercats series: Lynne Lipton (Cheetara and Wilykit), Peter Newman (Tygra and Wilykat), and Larry Kenney (Lion-O). The panelists shared humorous anecdotes and insights into their roles, reflecting on how they were cast for the iconic 1980s cartoon series. Lynne Lipton recounted her audition experience, emphasizing the rarity of landing such a memorable role. She expressed gratitude for being hired by director Lee Dannacher, who asked her to voice multiple female characters, except for Pumyra. Larry Kenney humorously recalled that he often appeared partially undressed during recording sessions, much to Lipton’s surprise. Peter Newman described the audition process as just another day until he learned he had secured a recurring role in what would become a beloved series. He reminisced about recording in the Rankin/Bass office and attempting various character voices,

The Thundercats reunion panel was EPIC! It totally took me back to my childhood, glued to the TV screen watching Lion-O battle Mumm-Ra. Hearing from the original voice actors, Lynne, Peter, and Larry, was awesome. They sounded like they were having a blast reminiscing about the good ol' days..

This was such an interesting read! The anecdotes from the voice actors were priceless, especially the one about recording in their underwear because of the heat. That just shows their dedication to the show. I also loved hearing about the audition process and how each actor brought their character to life. ThunderCats was a huge part of my childhood, and it's wonderful to see the love and effort that went into making it

Such a fun read! The ThunderCats voice actors shared some great stories. Lynne Lipton's range is incredible, and Larry Kenney really brought Lion-O to life. Recording in their underwear because of the heat? That’s a story I’ll remember! Makes me want to rewatch the series with fresh eyes

Loved this! The ThunderCats voice actors shared such cool stories. Lynne Lipton doing multiple voices is wild, and the underwear recording story was a riot. Makes me appreciate the show even more knowing how much fun they had behind the scenes.

I used to watch ThunderCats every day after school. Hearing about the voice actors and their experiences was fantastic. Lynne Lipton voicing both Cheetara and Wilykit? That's some serious talent. And the story about them recording in their underwear because it was so hot in the studio is just hilarious. It’s so cool to think about how much fun they had making the show.

Reading this article was like taking a trip down memory lane! The ThunderCats were a huge part of my childhood, and it was so cool to hear from the voice actors themselves. Lynne Lipton’s ability to voice multiple characters is mind-blowing. And the story about them recording in their underwear due to the heat? That’s something I never would have imagined! It’s great to know that they had such a good time making the show, even in tough conditions. Definitely makes me want to rewatch the series and maybe even introduce it to my kids. Thanks for such a fun and informative article!

I grew up loving ThunderCats, but I never thought about what the voice actors went through. Lynne Lipton voicing multiple characters is awesome, but the whole recording in their underwear situation? That seems pretty wild and not in a good way. It’s great to hear they had fun, but it also highlights how much the industry has changed for the better. Makes me wonder what other crazy behind-the-scenes stories are out there.

I don't think they recorded naked persay, I think Lipton was messing around with everyone on that. I think everyone there did multiple characters.
