The Thundercats were a multimedia experience from the beginning — when the series launched in syndication in 1985, you could watch the show, play with the figures and read the comic book, which was produced by Marvel through their new Star Comics imprint. Published bi-monthly for most of its life, the comic would reach 24 issues over three years, and then never be seen again outside of dusty longboxes in comics shops. That is, until today, when Dynamite Entertainment licensed the property from WB to produce new Thundercats comics….and revive the old ones. We’ve written before about the oncoming Thundercats Classic Years Omnibus books they have in the works, and today was the day the crowdfunding campaign actually launched. (Delayed from its original November launch date, we speculated the actual time would be during Dynamite’s livestream interview with Lion-O voice actor Larry Kenney…and we were right.) So here’s what you can get: the Thundercats omnibus is being offered as one volume in hardcover, or two volumes in paperback.
