Just to clarify things for the curious, here's the original video/audio for the clip:

And for a bit of an explanation as to what's really going on you can take a look here. Basically it's a "Southern White-Faced Owl", a part of the "Scops Owl" family, if my information is right. The transformations are mainly to scare off smaller owls, to help maintain territory or to ward off competition, or camouflage itself as a tree branch or trunk, to hide from larger owls that might threaten or eat it.
