It’s interesting how a show about games continues to reflect the real world’s structure of control. Gi-hun’s arc shows how powerless people try to find meaning in chaos. The gumball machine could symbolize chance — that fate is randomized, and justice is a gamble. I think Squid Game’s final message will be about systems that are impossible to beat from within. But still, people try. That’s what gives it weight.

I actually like that Netflix is ending it soon. Better to finish strong than drag things out. The teaser didn’t show much, but that’s okay. The mystery is part of the experience. Gi-hun returning isn’t surprising, but I hope they show his strategy more this time. Less reacting, more acting. And maybe we’ll finally learn who’s really in charge of the whole system. I’ll be watching day one.

Squid Game America will technically be season 4 because it will continue where Season 3 left off.
