This sounds like a fascinating drama! I love learning about Korean history through historical fiction. Queen Won Gyeong is a figure I haven't heard much about, so that's exciting. A power struggle between a king and queen? Sign me up! Though a bit worried about the criticism regarding sexual content, especially if it's not historically accurate. Still, with a 7.6 rating on MyDramaList and a near-perfect score on Viki, it sounds like it might be worth checking out despite the mixed reviews.

Hold on, the king RIPPED his wife's most trusted servant away from her, then used that betrayal to humiliate her? Toxic masculinity much? This drama sounds infuriating, but also strangely compelling. I might have to watch it just to see how Won Gyeong deals with this situation. Hopefully, she doesn't just become a doormat for this awful king. Maybe she plots her revenge

Soft porn disguised as a historical drama? No thanks. I like my K-dramas with a good plot, not just gratuitous sex scenes. This whole "king takes revenge on his wife through infidelity" trope is tired. There are plenty of other historical dramas out there that focus on strong female characters without resorting to such cliches.
