I never got into the DBZ franchise because none of it made any f'ing sense, especially with the references from the first series. I got into the original Dragonball series and became a fan of it , and I hope to get into Marvel or
DC to do an accurate adaptation of the series into a 3-5 book graphic novel series not unlike Watchmen. But unlike the predominately white film , it will have Asian people and Asian backgrounds.

IMO, the original Dragon Ball was the best after having sat through it when YTV played the Blue Water dub.

Because it was more then just 10 episodes of fighting one guy. I'm tempted to buy the DVD

I believe a remake is in order for DBZ,just to give it more story.

I don't think you could give DBZ more of a story if you tried. I love the show, but goddamn, it takes forever. It does make more sense if you watch both series, though.

No that's just restored with cut out filler and grainy parts.

When I mean a remake , I mean Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. Redone better animation accurate story to the manga.

That's the problem that Funimation would've never had if they aired DB before DBZ in the first place.

Sweet jesus no! I swear, that kind of crap is what's ruining Japanese animation. There's enough anime that follow their manga to the letter. I'm sick of it. What's wrong with just doing something new with it? It seems to work well enough for American comics.

Also, about the DB openings. The one before the HG one is Funimations, not the original US opening.

In the proper order, Harmony Gold, Saban, and Funimation.

They tried that. It was called Dragonball Evolution, but the fans of the original pouted, stopped their feet and cried "It's not the same!"

I also picked up this DVD set today as a "To me, From me" birthday gift.

It's a lot slower paced than DBZ, that's for sure, at least from what I've seen so far.
