The oil spill and politicians

Is anyone else but me disgusted that all politicians on both sides are using this travesty that occurred to further then own agendas? Instead of getting out there and doing something about it they are bickering with each other.

All this point-fingering towards each other is so childish. BP seemed to be sitting around, trying to figure out to clean all this mess, but they didn't DO nothing. I'm tired of it.

Like President Obama said, "Plug the damn hole!!" >:(

This mostly happen everytime we have a disaster, like Katrina. Which is sad, because instead of finding a way to fix the mess, they want to blame someone for it.

Katrina was a natural disaster. This is a manmade one. It's a subtle but important distinction:

President has obvious authority to lend aid in one, but not in the other. Technically, it's still BP's property, and the President can't, under law, tamper with the property. Course, the question is, does BP get the rights not to have its property tampered with like an American citizen does, since it's not a human being but a company, and a British one at that?

Either way, it's not like he doesn't care. It's just that he doesn't have much he can do, either due to legal issues or due to engineering problems.

Just shows we need companies to be responsible for their actions. By which I mean, don't do anything you can't undo if need be.
