The Official Batman Begins Discussion

The trailers left me completely underwhelmed. The movie itself expanded my mind and massaged all the cinematic pleasure centers of my brain.

I don't know what it is, but I LOVE me some training sequences while the characters talk philosphy. Bloody love it. Karate Kid, Highlander, Batman Begins... Dragon the Bruce Lee story, something about those scenes just... rule.

Went in with low expectations, and the director was like, no worries.. I know exactally what I'm doing. He turned it out.

Best Batman movie I've seen and I really liked Tim Burton's movies.

My only regret is that they went so realistic in this movie that there's no room for super heroes, so I can't see Superman showing up anytime ever.

If Joker is in the second flick, I also want Harley Quin in there too! And she has to be calling him "Puddin"!!

Dude, I know the perfect actress to play Harley!! Get this: Sheri Moon.

For those who don't know, she played the yummy psycho Baby in House of 1000 Corpses, and is currently married to Rob Zombie. Look her up on google and then tell me: wouldn't she be perfect?

It's the same universe though, so as long as they treat Supes as being totally real, there would be no problems.
I don't think there should be any "team-up's" though for the new Bat flicks for quite awhile. And that includes Robin.

I like my Batman working alone, without any help from other heroes.
Hope they'll keep it this way. :evil3:

I had a dream that Robin was played by Selwyn Ward in the next movie... you know, "TJ" and I wasn't bothered at all.

After seeing this movie, something about race really seems irrelevant now.

But there's no way you could make Superman look real. Best thing about this movie was how real it felt. Superman is suppose to be about the impossible being possible... this Batman was not about fantasy.

I don't know, if they did something like the fan-trailer Worlds Finest, that worked pretty well.
Even have Bruce hearing about some guy that is flying around in red & blue tights in Metropolice and him just not believing it, until Supes showes up. Their relationship should also be more of like in the Dark Knight Returns novel. To paraphrase what Frank Miller said, "these two have oppisite personalities, and there is just no way that they would be friends, ever." It could work. It'd just be hard not to make it cheesy, but it could be done. But I'd really like to see Bats be solo for quite awhile.

As for a black Robin, wouldn't bother me any. Kingpin became black in the DD movie and I didn't care. The casting was good, so race didn't even come into play in my mind. And that's all that matters, is the casting.

I just saw this movie and well.. Im a bit dissapointed. Im happy with Ghul's persona and turn out. Good job there. Batman's voice was alright. But towards the end, it started sounding stupid. Like he was trying way too hard. I think its because he didnt have a natural Batman voice. He had to force it. Thats what Im assuming anyways because it just didnt hold up after a while.

Here's my major dissapointment. That chick.. Rachael or whatever? Pisses me off honestly. One of those chicks who gets in your face with her preaching bull **** and you just want to slap her. She wasnt THAT annoying but sometimes I just wish I could slap her and take her down a peg.

But here comes Scarecrow. I loved this villain in the cartoons and comics. I love alot of the batman villains. They are very enjoyable and fun to watch. But in this movie Scarecrow is a huge let down. Hes just a guy in a mask. And when he uses his "fear" toxin, oooo wow. The SCREEN gets shakey! Ooo thats SOOOOO SCAREY. The Scare vision sucked honestly.

The only time Scare Vission was kewl is when Batman used it on Scarecrow and Batman looked WICKED.

But no here comes Scarecrow, high and mighty on a BADASS horse and what happens? He gets taken down by a TAZER. A fucking TAZER by the BITCH. God dammit. Its lord of the Rings all over again! She might as well have slain Sauron while she was at it and said "Im a woman!! RAWR". Yes. Yes you fucking are.

Thats the dumbest part of the movie.

Eh. The movie was alright. I also didnt like Bruce's parents. They really tried to push that "His dad is jesus" type deal. I mean, his dad didnt feel human. He was this perfect caring individual with no faults or human qualities. Even when he was dying it was disturbing to notice how the father didnt seem to CARE he was dying. He just told his son "its ok". Its ok that you're dying and leaving the kid alone to possibly die himself?! God how moronic! Its just not human. I mean they tried too hard to make him perfect/ "Oh I work at the hostpital. I care.". Meh. I prefer the original story. Bruce's father is just your average guy. He does what he can to help the city. He gets wrongfully shot by the Joker and boom. Batmans vengeance

But the problrem here is. I dont know but it looked like they dropped the whole "Joker killed his parents" route. So basically his father became a pussy who didnt want to protect his family and take the high road cause hes "perfect" and gets shot by a street bum. Woo... how AWESOME.

So Joker is going to be in the next film. Awesome. Cant wait to see how they **** up Joker. Since they already ruined my scarecrow. Sorry. They ruined him >_>; kewl mask. Kewl persona. But god dammit. A TAZER. A fucking tazer. Bull **** I tell you.

"You have nothing to fear but fear itself!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! ARGH! argh no. a tazer~ dammit! I never thought of that! A Tazer! Aaaaargh! whyyy.. the pain... oooh the pain. Aaaarrgh. the suffering.. =_= oh you bitch... noooo.. I paid good money for that horse... aaaaargggghhhhhh *lightning sparks and he explodes. Bitch does a pose and the kid flashes the Victory sign. O M F G WOO Fin HOO! BUY THE TOYS NOW! BUY BUY BUY CHEAPO MUCHO GRANDE ESPANOLES!*

Yeah... Again. It was an ok movie. Im just a bit dissapointed. In fact it was better than ok. It was pretty good. I liked it. I prefer Tim Burton's first two films a lot more though. He did a great job back then and honestly, I dont think these new films will get it right in the future. Joker's about to be ruined because now Joker is apparently just another nut. Hes not Batmans personal nemisis. The man who killed Bruce's parents. Hes just a nut that looks like a clown. Unless they pull some sorta Story BS and make the Bum (who was shot and supposively killed) the Joker. But that Bum was no Joker. Thats for sure.

So prepare yourselves. Batman Begins.. AGAIN! Raaawr! RAAAAWR!

And you know what? Bruce should have slapped that bitch at the end. What piece of work is that? She kisses him and gives him the look and all that romantic crap. Then she talks down to him like shes morally better than him and knows. "Oh but you arent the same. Im hoping to find that little boy somewhere".

Batman:: *Slaps her* Yeah well when you do, I'll be there to lock your ass up you damned pedophile.

Gah! >_> yeah. Glad everyone else enjoyed watching the awesome scarecrow get taken down by a tazer. Oooooo the mightiest of weapons. the TAZER. Run joker run! Shes coming after you... oh my fucking god. If they make her Batwoman Im going to kill them. Im going to kill them all. I can see this **** now! Batman Begins 3! Batwoman vs Poison Ivy! Oooooo.. Im a damned psychic. YES! I must start a hot line. Im too freaking good.

Tell me your future honies.. Mister Psycho shall reveal all with Yu Gi Oh cards

Keith:: Meow?

Psycho:: Yes Hon.. I see.. the Penguin Soldier. Do you have troubles with a loved one?

Keith:: Well I have troubles getting a loved one..

Psycho:: Im pulling up a Pot of Greed. Its allowing me to pull up two more cards Honey. Do you prefer the company of multiple people?

Keith:: You might be touching into my dreams with that one.

Psycho:: Oh, I just pulled up a Red Eyes honey. It's showing me you got someone there that you hate. Someone that's stealing them pudding cups from you.

Keith:: ... KAAAAAAAAAGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! *raises fist*

So... Fantastic Four. Im hoping Im not let down to the point where I start to ramble like a psycho again. I mean the commercials for it look good. Who knows. Im wanting to see it.

I thought the Scarecrow was just fine. Batman begins was as much of an origin of Scarcrow, just as much as it was an origin of the Batman.

And about being taken out by a tazer...sure it was a little anti-climatic, but he wasn't the really big threat in the end anyway. Not to mention, lets see YOU get hit by a tazer and see how badass you are ;)

Thats not the point. Batman should have taken down the Scarecrow. Not some bitch with a tazer. I mean I've been looking forward to this movie for Scarecrow. And he became a chump with a cheap Fear Vision effect. That's just wonderful. They didnt even try to be creative with Scarecrow. I liked the plot of the movie though. They used their roles nicely.

Though Im not sure about Jesus playing Bruce's father. I half expected him to walk on water and let pigeons go free under a new law that pigeons can vote. And then the frogs came... =_=

Wow GPG... I usually agree with some of your PR reviews and whatnot but I don't agree with your BB review. Sorry you didn't like it as much as a few others. The Joker was never the one that killed Bruce's parents. That's the way Burton played it for his film but this version was much truer to the comic's version. The only difference being that they left a movie theatre in the comics and here it was the opera. They nailed Bruce's dad perfectly. A good citizen that worked as a doctor and did what he could to help his struggling city. Everything here was almost perfect. The only major difference being that Ra's Al Ghul was involved in Bruce's training and adding Rachel to his "origins". More to come...
