The past villains in 1970s was just space alien wanted to rule the earth then 1980s is about the same thing in Rx even though Black was about Century Kings.

New generation villains have many different and interesting origins and what they wanted and why rider fight them like for revenge or personal greed.

Kuuga-some sort of race existed in past that kill humans for fun and count the numbers they kill.
Agito-Created by Overlord or god to remove agito seed within human specie.
Ryuki-mirror world stuffs
Faiz-evolve humans
Blade-the fight between over 52 species
Hibiki-Japan ancient legends of oni
Kabuto-space alien worm try find their own home by mimic and kill their victim
Den-O-future creatures that just wanted to destroy the past

There aren't much rider that truly fight for peace and mankind maybe only Godai Yuusuke as Kuuga. I wonder if he related to the first Kuuga and was he chosen for this or is he reincarnated. Anyway rider like Kabuto is for revenge or protect some people only and Faiz is lazy too.

Blade fought to protect humanity. & the riders in Kabuto fight to protect people & junk, it's just some of them also fought because someone close to them was killed by a worm.

It seems you don't know your Rider history or have even tried to read up about the diffrent Kamen Rider shows.

The villains have many different ideas and mostly their personality is closed to what I think but not describe in the series so is just my opinion.

Actually almost all the main riders said at one point that they'll protect humanity with all they have. Ryuki, Blade and Den-O ranted alot about saving humanity. Faiz said he'd fight as a human (and did) in episode 40 and fought till the end against his own kind. Hibiki and his fellow riders didn't need to say that as they were all good and were doing this already. I don't remember Agito specifically saying the he'd protect humans but his kind heart diffently did protect humans. Kabuto said some random stuff about his grandma but that was his way of saying this as well. So all main riders (including some others) said that they'd protect humanity and their actions proved it.

I found the riders in agito had some good reasons to fight. Agito wanted to protect people and his new family from the Unknowns,G3 was doing his duty as a cop to help protect people and fight his superiors when they were wrong. I mean with whole letting the Unknowns live because they felt Agitos were too powerful. and Gills because he wanted to survive and even though he doesn't directly say it I think he want to protect people if he can from ending up like him. Also he wanted to protect the people he loved even though a lot did die he still did his best but when your enemy is God woh boy was he lucky to get away alive.

well goddai yusuke was a descendant of kuuga, so that explains why he saw the belt visions
