The Grudge

Forever Knight

Eye See You
I'm thinking of ordering this tomorrow knight on ppv and watching it. For anyone who has seen it is it worth the $4.00 to order it?.

Not a movie I'll ever watch again. It's one of three movies that have genuinely scared the living **** outta me.

I was once amused by "horror" movies and enjoyed seeing peopel run and get slaughtered in creative ways.

The Grudge, The Ring, and The Blair Witch Project did away with all those, got inside my head and had their way with my soul in a way I do not wish to experience ever again.

So, if you like being scared, then go for it. I on the other hand am going with the, "**** THAT!" philosphy and steering well clear of those goddamn movies. :P

Partially knowing your tastes, Knight, I do not think you'd like The Grudge at all. Maybe I'm jaded, but it's just about the most unscary scary movie I've ever seen -- somewhere in between a "Scream" and "Critters." It makes those Ring movies seem action packed.

I also made the mistake of watching the originals, which are all like the remake -- boring, boring crap. I really don't understand how they've let this writer/director make 1,500 of these movies. And they even let him direct the remake!

And no, I'm not the kind of person who has no patience for slower paced horror films and needs slice-em-ups -- my favorite horror film is the original Exorcist, which is SLOW in its first half -- but, damn it, if you're going to call yourself a horror film, put in some damn horror! I think The Grudge flicks prove that it doesn't take much to scare the Japanese. A naked boy painted white, screeching like a cat...? A broad with long hair, sounding like creaky floorboards? It's stuff that made me laugh my balls off when I saw them in the movie. I don't think there's been one good "haunted house" flick, but The Grudge is certainly among the lamer ones I've seen.

Don't order the movie, take my advice knight, seriously. It may be scary for some, but me? Nope, I was laughing through the whole movie to tell you the truth, and the ending of The Grudge is really dissapointing to me and most of my friends. This movie and other horror flicks of today is the reason why I don't watch Horror Films anymore, just because, it doesn't have that same spark as they did in the old days, but The Ring may be something else, not really sure, haven't watched it. Although I did watch the Japanese counterpart and I heard that they are way scarier then that of the American versions and watching Ringu-0 and Ringu really is something else...

hmmm Alright I think I'll listen to you guys with this one.

Anyone recommend any other good scary flicks to get? I'm really in the mood to have the **** scared out of me.

The Grudge is one of the worst horror movies I think I've ever seen, which is odd because the original, Ju-On, was good. Why not just buy/rent it?

If you're looking for some good horror, I suggest Kakashi, Tomie 2 (NOT Tomie 1... the best part of that movie was the head in the grocery bag, and you can see that on the box), Ju-On (which WAS good), Audition, The Eye, or Uzumaki (all Asian... they're just better).

The one bad thing about "The Grudge" was Sarah Michelle Gellar...I never bothered seeing the Grudge, because it didn't appeal to me at all. Good thing I saved my money.

I think it's up to opinion guys. I couldn't disagree with the above more unless I've woken up in a Bizarro Universe where The Grudge starred The Care Bears. :eyebrow:

Seems to me that it's one o' dem dar... "see it for yourself" circumstance. See, I don't like having the **** scared outta me, so I stear clear. It might get you and if it doesn't.. at least you'll honestly be able to jump onto the band wagon of hate for the flick informed.

Ju-On did not scare me, neither did "Ringu."

Their American counter-parts PWNED me big time. :redface2:
