The End for San Andreas

I really don't see it as a loss, but then again I didn't touch SA as I never beat Vice City but even that got boring after awhile.

Actually wrote a persuasive essay on the subject of scapegoating videogames (Ended up getting a C on it *muttermutter* but that's another story) but actually IMO it kind of goes beyond that with anything really.

TV, for example suffers form this bigtime. Honestly, it surprises me why they pull one TV show off for saying one thing off color while there's crap on that can be labeled as softcore porn for the most part (but then again I guess that can partly be blamed on low ratings and sweeps *shrugs*).

I could go on for hours about how I hate media scapegoating but I'm personally not in the mood right now as I'm freezing thanks ot the AC being literally a few feet away from the comp. You'd figure I'd try pulling the doors over as I have oen of those desks with the doors on it but it's keeping me awake.

And that's my penny as that really doesn't count as a full two cents,

*gets off the soapbox and goes back to writing three scripts at once with bloodshot eyes...*

Sorry if I offend anyone who likes the Grand Theft Auto games, but I think they're disgusting. I just don't understand why it's so cool to beat bystanders to death and pick up whores. This whole sex scene thing just intensifies my dislike. I'm glad this one got pulled.

I agree. It's not that I'm anti-sex or anything but I don't see why playing as some Westside gangbanger is cool. And stealing cars is like the gayest video game device ever.

Eh...GTA gets weak around playing it for 3 days. It got old quick.

Kill...steal...beat up people...ooo jet pack? Wow...okay...*puts GTA away for months and starts playing Metal Slug.*

Agreed, thats why you have to mod the engine so that your hotwiring cars to get away from Zombies like in the Game me and my co-workers Brainstormed.

hehe

First off, the words I'm gonna say is my own opinion, and in no way meant as flames to those who've posted here.

Now, as to this action being taken up against SA, I think it's just dumb, right up there with the making of Vice City 1.2 just to take out one little line. I mean, they raised the stink about it like a year or two AFTER the game was released, which is a little too late in my books to complain about. It's even worse for SA due to the fact that someone had to hack and cheat-code their way into finding this, something I don't think a lot of 12-year olds are capable of doing, despite this age of computer literacy. I just feel that if a kid that age or younger gets their hands on an game already meant to be just for 17-years old and up, the last thing that needs to be done is to blast and blame the game or it's makers for it's content and force them to change it. If anything, blame the person dumb enough to let the game fall into impressionable hands.

Yes, this game isn't for everyone. That's why we have different types of games like sports and RPGs and puzzle games. And while I certainlly like SA, I sure as heck wouldn't let any future kids of mine play it untill they reached the right age for it. I just hope this doesn't end up going down the same route America took in the 50's with comics they found questionable.

Yeah see...that would kick arse if that could actually be made ^^

The only thing I really hated about GTA:SA was that I think it was quite racist. The main storyline is just a bunch of black people going round killing gangs to take back "da hood." I'll give you a missions objective, get a fucking life! It's a seriously **** game and I traded it in ages ago for another PS2 game. I officially hate the PS2, it's just not entertaining anymore. I'm taking it in tomorrow to claim a Gameboy Advance SP and a game. I can get £45 for my PS2, GBA SP's with any game go for £45. YAY! I can get a Pre-owned NES style GBA SP and any game! Perfect for the 4 and a half hour flight to Greece. :D

My question is...why do they even make games like this for adults? Sure, you have a right to play what you want, but this doesn't seem to be the healthiest wat to take out aggression, or whatever the reason adults play this. If they play it for "fun", well that honestly scares me a little bit. I'm not against video game violence, being a gamer myself, but like RayeRaye and I were discussing this on MSN, we came to the conclusion that the GTA games were violent for the sake of violence, nothing more. I'm not trying to attack anyone, but this is an issue that bothers me.
