I've decided to give Anime a view. But I need **** that's going to impress the living fucking daylights out of me.

I need something dark, dramatic, epic, and that has a very dark and brooding soundtrack to go with it.

I would suggest Death Note. It has a very dark theme (the protagonist, if you can call him that, is a psychopath) and the story has you on the edge of your seat the whole time. Don't expect big explosions or huge fights, but it's finer details and the masterminding of everything that keeps you tied to the screen. It's like playing chess with people's lives.

gantz was pretty brutal, the editors gave the manga writer free reign so he can pretty much do whatever the hell he wants
