Ride's off into the sunset.....
But anyway... M$$$ did a lot right this cycle and didn't let up. Only thing they got wrong was hardware that worked, but they made the 360 experience such a accessible and fun thing to want to be a part of, that even if the system died, you didn't want to be without it.
Playing with friends, accessible price, wide range of damn quality games and developer friendly. On top of that, just lost of sense of community, embracing and helping fan communities...
And as time rolls on, I do feel Blu-Ray will become increasingly more irrelevant as digital media takes more and more of a foothold. With how I stream stuff to my 360 lately, the idea of buying physical media is swiftly becoming more and more obsolete. The first time I fired up the Netflix streaming... I felt it.
Hats off for Microsoft this round. They went and made a checklist of everything I need in a game console and they effin' did it. Only thing my console is missing is Heavy Rain, Valkyria Chronicles and White Knight Story.
And even those would end up in a backlog of games I hardly find time to play.
Feels good to be on the "winning" side for once. Haven't since my Genesis. Backed the Dreamcast, then the GameCube, and I wouldn't say I "backed" Xbox or PS2... then the 360 came along and Mass Effect and the rest.. has been history.
Good times. :jam:
