agreed. being someone who enjoyed the first two movies, I walked out of the cinema thinking "WTF happened?" after watching 3. The Amazing Spiderman is just an improvement from good to better IMO.

I loved the first two films as well, but loved to hate the third.

Needless to say, it was mighty enjoyable to watch in a theater with so much festivity from drunks and rowdy people whom hated it as well.

Some random duded called MJ a slut in one scene and from then on became an unintentional comedic parody of Emo-Man.

Kirsten Dunst was probably only hired to spend the entire movie screaming or act like a heartless bitch towards Peter. I'm not familiar with the character of MJ from the original comics but I've always hear she's one of the most lovable comic book characters...

She is actually. I've read a few and watched the shows and she is. Really.

Hope Gwen doesn't get killed in 2.

Just watched the movie. It was alright.

I feel like if this movie had come out 5 or 6 years ago it would have been a big deal. Comic book films have become so much better, movies like The Avengers, Iron Man, Thor, Nolan's Batman, X-Men: First Class and all of these movies make this one seem very mediocre and forgettable.

I will admit, this movie had a great cast, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are awesome, and there was some great supporting actors also. The Lizard was a great villain, but I felt he didn't get enough screen time to full develop his arc. I still prefer the Sam Raimi movies at this point, they had a much tighter story (expect 3...yuck)

I have much more hope for the sequel, especially since Jamie Foxx is supposed to be in it. But I felt this movie was very mediocre

Sad thing is, mediocrity was almost certainly what they were shooting for. The movie exists solely for Sony to hold onto the rights to make more movies, afterall.
Part of me actually respects Spidey 3 more than the reboot. They at least tried (and failed miserably) with 3. The reboot was pure product, wrapped in a weird basketball texture and shoved into theaters.
