[Cartoon] Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2k12 - Talk UP!

Finally saw the first (hour-long) episode and I have to say I liked it a lot

I feel that the comedy in this is balanced a lot better than in Ultimate Spiderman, which tends to undermine the action just a bit too much. In here the goofiness did not reached annoying levels.

And this is easily my favorite iteration of Michelangelo. He's just the type of character that one love to watching screw up and get hurt :anime:

All the talk about frogs in epiosde, I feel as though there's suppose to be a battletoads reference somewhere in there

Miyamoto Usagi has been confirmed, by Usagi Yojimbo's comic book creator, Stan Sekai, that he will not be appearing in nick's new cartoon

I figured as much, since the only reason for his appearance was because Stan Sekai and Peter Laird (co-creator of TMNT) were good friends

I like what they've done and worry about the limits of CGI. Limits severely all the things we can see on screen and the amount of characters.

TMNT 2k3'll be a hard one to beat.

Teng Shen was the name of Hamato Yoshi's wife in the original movie, too, so I think it was just fan service.

Really? Huh... Nice call back, but with all the references and call back material they all ready have, that might have been going one step too far. Just seems like such an obscure thing to include.

EDIT: Nevermind.

TMNT 23K has already been forgotten about, and quite frankly, people overrate it to death anyway. A few good seasons here and there, plenty of grit, but nowhere near as entertaining or as self-deprecating as the 80s one, which remains the true measuring stick in terms of franchise relevancy and impact. Ask anyone on the street who Krang and Rocksteady and Bebop are, then ask anyone on the street who Ch'rell or Hun are. No contest.

Honestly you can say the same thing about the old cartoon. I for one don't care for it, as an eighties cartoon it was fine, but as for a comic book adaptation, I found it more weaker then DBE (again, for just adaptation, it is a better viewing). I find the Archie spin-off comics more better, and they try to shove "recycle is good" down your throat more often. the old cartoon is severely overrated.

The only thing the old show really had was that it was first turtle many people had seen. Had the 03 show and 80 switched places... it would be the same thing, people would say the old show (03 in this case) was the greatest thing ever.

But this isn't the place to discuss Ninja Turtles in general, this is only for the Nick show... so let's keep "what is the best representation of the turtles" on the downlow... unless it directly refers to the new show
