Taking the "news" hosts seriously?

Do you know anyone or you yourself take any of these guys seriously? People like Olberman, Hannity, Rush, O'Reilly, Beck and the rest. Over the last week I have watched several of these shows for a project for a class I am taking, and I just can't see how anyone can take any of these guys seriously.

The only cable news personality I trust is Jon Stewart, which no doubt adds another notch to my belt of stereotypical internet geekitude.

It's easy to get trapped in 'their world' when you have the same views. For example, I used to love Glenn Beck. But that was back when he was only on the radio and didnt have a show. i liked him because he had a lot of humor with his talking points. He kind of did the Jon Stewart thing and made a lot of fun out of the drama. But now he's a raving lunatic. I can't believe how much he's changed. He's insane. Frighteningly insane.

But I mean, I understand that when you share similar opinions with the hosts and you also share a laugh, you become sucked into that world and it's hard to really see that you're trapped.

I really don't know why people listen to Right-wing pundit's and believe every word.
Maybe it's because they are always out on the fore-front, being very vocal about what they don't like.

Then all the Leftist's, Student's and Stoner's watch Stewart and Colbert.

I personally haven't watched them, but since you have, keep an open mind... Also try to watch the other side And then do your own research on the topics that they've talked about. That way you can formulate your own opinion and not just agree with them. Just my 2 cents :thumbs:

Right wing and left wing are the same. They are all in the same boat IMO.

Stewart I don't count along side the left or right. He just tells it like it is and to hell with what either side thinks of him.

Well what's great about his show is that he makes fun of both parties so it never feels biased.
