Allow me to explain:

typical sentai formula: a monster of the week, which gets blown up one way then blown UP another way to giant mode.

Bioman formula: One of the Big Three commandeers the operation, and the Biomen have to defeat one of the five Beastnoids. They retreat, then Doctorman launches a Mechagigan monster. The Beastnoids recur until about ep 30, when three of them get killed. Beastking is resurrected while Metzler and Psygorn are rebuilt, so from five they become three.

Well actually, whenever there are scenes on the Neo Machine Empire's base, we can always see those Beastnoids screaming: "For the Man!!" but only one Beastnoids gets to go to battle on every episode. Or at least that's how I remember it.
