So Okarin managed to change the past in which he won the lottery, although no else remembers. John Titor confirms that Okarin is the only person in the world who can retain memories when changing world lines, and wants Okarin to be his "Messiah." This also explains why no one remembers Kurisu getting stabbed from episode 1.
