The release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake is close enough now that Square feels comfortable letting us take a peek behind the curtain. Inside Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be a series of videos consisting of interviews with the staff behind the game. They’ll share their thoughts on the series, the original version, the choices they made for the remake and the challenges they faced. The first video in the series is out today.
According to the video, producer Yoshinori Kitase first approached director Tetsuya Nomura and scenario writer Kazushige Nojima about a possible FF7 remake back in 2012. By this point a remake had already been repeatedly requested by fans, but Kitase says he started the ball rolling because he personally wanted to revisit it, as did his peers.
