On February 26, Digital Manga Press is re-releasing the complete original Speed Racer manga in 2 hardcover volumes. I can't wait!

:jam: :buttrock: :jam:

If there were more issues in the original manga (than the previous Vol. 1 had), please let this news be for real! Don't make "pseudo-manga" Amekomi to substitute for the real thing (which is the case with the American Battle of the Planets "manga").

MACH GO GO GO developed over time; Yoshida originally penned a couple of different racing manga, "Mach Sanshiro" (motorcycles), which developed into "Pilot Ace" (cars) -- the latter of which is almost a perfect template for "Mach Go Go Go." These ran in children's magazines of the early 1960s, such as Shonen Gaho (Boys Pictorial):

MACH SANSHIRO (conceived by Yoshida; art by his brother, Ippei Kuri; and written by Minoru Kume. All of them instrumental in the produciton of the MACH GO GO GO series.)

PILOT ACE (story and art by Yoshida; here you see is clearly the template for MACH GO GO GO.)

As for Yoshida's MACH GO GO GO manga, it was only produced to support the TV series, so it only ran for a year -- but, with that being said, 700 pages is nothing to scoff at. There were two tankobon volumes released under Asahi Sonorama's Sun Comics banner in 1968:

Volume One

Volume Two
