Something very special is going to happen in Shinkenger Act 43

That's not the same thing. The current Shinkengers are right here, right now. The Timerangers have no reason to return unless some Londarz or other criminal tries to escape to 2001 again. And what sense would that make, really?

As much sense as Deka vs. Aba.

I wouldn't say Timeranger "flopped." Its toy sales were lower than usual, but it's ratings were OK. It turned off some younger viewers, but the longtime fans liked it, and Toei seems to think of it as an accomplishment. It couldn't have been all bad -- it's not like it died a pathetic disgrace like JAKQ.

As for being overshadowed by GoGoFive in their versus movie, well -- all of the versus movies up until then royally ripped off the previous team. Only Red, maybe one of the heroines, would be focused on, and that couldn't really be done when GoGoFive was a whole family.

As for there not being a Gaoranger VS Timeranger, well, it wasn't needed. I do feel like Toei tried to treat Timeranger with some respect, because bringing them back for a Gaoranger VS Timeranger or one of them in Gaoranger VS Super Sentai would have ruined the bittersweet finale. They were going back to the future, never meant to return. (Otherwise, what's to stop them from popping up every now and then to play leapfrog with Tatsuya?) The finale would have lost any of its impact if in, say Gaoranger VS Super Sentai, Ayase inexplicably returns to 2001 just to be bonked in the head with a G-Phone and having to teach Gao Blue about sentai. Yes, there was a time where Toei cared.

Plus, Toei wanted to do Gaoranger VS Super Sentai instead, which was better than any sort of Gaoranger VS Timeranger movie would have probably turned out.

1. Awesome and long overdue. It may not seem like a big deal to some but in the context of Super Sentai it's kinda huge because cultural context or any political aspect put aside for a moment, it's just something Sentai hasn't really done and something that would be cool to see.

2. I think there will be. Even if it is not soon there is eventually going to be a show that dares to try it. There have been female characters who have technically been the leaders of their respective team but without the.. for lack of a better term "prestige" that comes with being a Red. Having a female be a Red for a series is the next step.

3. No. I would like an official subbed release that I could buy from a local legit retailer and play on a machine that is from my own region without the adaptation filter and added on villans with names like Xandocor or Razavox. But if it had to be adaptation I would at least like to be handled in a way that respected the original material for its celebration of Japan and Samurai movies. In other words, if you're gonna adapt it fine. Just don't pull a Ferbus.

For Toei though, low toy sales can be considered a failure, since, even if the show itself is considered artistically good and gets decent ratings, a big part of the profit of Super Sentai comes from those toy sales. If those sales are lower, then that's no good for the franchise.

And while longtime fans can like something, if the younger viewers are turned off, Toei will see that as a very bad thing. This is because younger viewers are... well, much more likely to buy the toys of the show.

I... really don't know about that. I mean, it's not like they hadn't pulled the "last survivor of the previous villains returns and the Sempai team is chasing them" card even before this point. And hell, even then you could still have gotten a moment that respected the ending by having the TimeRangers feeling a nostalgic joy as they realize they could work together one last time to pass the torch on to the next "generation", as it were.

Plus, Toei wanted to do Gaoranger VS Super Sentai instead, which was better than any sort of Gaoranger VS Timeranger movie would have probably turned out.

And on this point, I will have to respectfully disagree. IMO, there is very little that could have turned out as POORLY as GaoRanger VS Super Sentai turned out. :shakefist

Having a Gaoranger vs. Timeranger team up would have pretty much taken a dump on Timeranger's finale and the fact that the 4 members returned to the future. I'm glad it stayed like this.

As for Female ShinkenRed, I think it's awesome and this is gonna be interesting. I can't wait to see the team's reaction when they find out Takeru is not the Lord.

1. amazed what i can tell.

2. well come to think of it. Toei needs the new generations of red senshi-tachi (red rangerous), to be more expectation. after Shiba, Takeru's gone or passed away from the previous battle against Gedoushu. especially Mako-san will ever surprised. they should think it in the first place with good idea. just like Kamen Riders have female users like Femme, Amaki and Kivala too. the fans will proudly love it to see female red ranger in Super Sentai. everyone here at HJU will agreed. but also my idea for female violet ranger too.

3. wakanai na. can't sure about myself. o.o;;

Yeah but aren't they bringing the Go-onger villains back (from the trailer I saw) and they had a perfect ending.

Every villain in the current season is basically an undead, so bringing villains of the past season isn't really weird (although they should have given their outfits some Ayakashi-like details).

Anyway, Go-onger ended up their series in a parallel world, but they'll obviously be on Earth in this movie, so Timeranger being in the future isn't such a big obstacle. If you want to respect the ending, wouldn't the VS Super Sentai movie actually be perfect?

They could easily have brought only a single cast member back. There'd be no reunion, so they wouldn't need to break the ending of the show.
