Anyone who says, this is a great idea because it "changes the status quo", or whatever---save it. This is stupid because its just going to be undone sooner or later. I like this about as much as when Mike Grell did it to Iron Man a few years ago. And if they think this is newsworthy....not compared to a lesbian being Batwoman. :laugh:

I justed to like Spiderman when I was a kid, during his golden age when he was still single and battling the Green Goblin, not knowing it was Norman Osborn (did I spoil anyone? :laugh: ).
His marriage was already a turn-down and now on top of things they want him to reveal his identity? Poor Spidey ...

I didn't mind the marriage so much, but this, and thoughts of either killing Mary Jane or divorcing her from Peter just annoys me.

Well, the thing was that I really enjoyed the romantic tension in his life when he was still just dating Mary Jane: you didn't know how it would turn out and the whole Black Cat vs Mary Jane love triangle really did it for me. It was fun to see him struggle with his love life besides his super hero life. After his marriage I felt like part of the excitement was taken away, like he was 'settled' and that status quo wouldn't change anymore. At some point in time I think they 'killed' Mary Jane but it turned out she was just missing ... probably an attempt to bring back the love tensions from the old days.

But still, revealing his identity is worse since the whole secret identity is what makes Spidey tick IMHO.

Man marvel is really dissapointing me...Spidey revealing his identity is like ugh..revolting to me. I actually like the spider-marriage. I never liked how they tryed to turn MJ into a massive bitch to break them up just because writers don't have the balls to write a spiderman that is also a family man. The guy has to grow up some time...i know it's weird with the sliding time scale but he can't stay a struggling nyu student forever. This whole civil war thing is rather disgusting to me as well. I'm not digging the totalitarianship that the 616 american goverment is turning into (kinda mirroring our own..but not to such an extreme degree) first the clone saga, then the other, and now this...STOP BUGGERING UP MY SPIDEY MARVEL!

Infinite Crisis is really just another Zero Hour, killed off worthless characters and made villains out of heroes in a shameless money grabbing fashion. Expect redemption for Alex Luthor in ten years, they'll probably reveal Parralax was possesing him or something:laugh:

Cival War is no different, only the good thing is we get to see more of Iron Man as this badass character that his development has demanded for years, and Spidey's identity being public is a pretty good decision and the kind of development he needed.

Of course, Doctor Strange will probably retcon everything....

true that whole paralax possesing hal jordan thing really pissed me off, i mean a guy goes insane kills a crap load of heros and finally redeems himself by saving an entire planet, kinda hard to top that. DC had to ruin that. And now Civil War really isn't doing it for me. Screw the original Marvel Universe, I'm sticking with Ultimate (fill in the blank)
